    I see few ppsts on my facebook showing of George Bush Junior and people saying he was not all as bad now.

    People really do have short memories.

    Any chance we could do this all over again without Trump or Clinton.

    I would love see Woman President but just not a warmonger like her.

    If my mother tongue is shaking the foundations of your state, it probably means you built your state on my land.

    Why not have Europe as the world police? Seriously Europe seems to be the most rational out of all them countries plus we seem to be the ones to bear the brunt of the middle east backlash. Honestly I think the EU should stop being so friendly with the US and become more neutral.

    It seems to me that it is a great system when it elects the candidate one wants and a terrible system when it elects the candidate one doesn't want. At the end of the day I think Clinton supporters should just face up to it in that Trump was elected fair and square.

    China is in no position to argue, their economy was slowing, their demographics are fúcked even worse than Germany's, and their stock market had almost imploded last year.

    If Trump wanted to, he could knock the Chinese economy down the shítter within a week, and the Chinese know it. I guarantee you, if Trump plays hardball with them, China will roll over for 4 years and hope someone less aggressive gets in at the next election.

    this is completely ridiculous, first of all, do you actually know what a fascist is? all these fascist do is completely trivialize what actual fascists like hitler and his ilk. so hes like hitler cause hes a bit of an arsehole?

    also funny to note the origin of the birther movement, the clinton primary campaign.

    Trump is an avowed isolationist. They tend to get dragged into conflicts against their will as opposed to interventionists who usually end up starting them(sometimes inadvertently).

    And sometimes these things have a momentum of their own and are sadly inevitable.

    A game of chicken with China seems pretty risky. Their economy is slowing but that's from a ridiculously high starting point, and the state has far more power to effectively intervene in the economy than the US, and far less compunction about doing so even when it bulldozes human rights.

    It seems like a fight Trump would have an appetite for though, whether he'll be allowed is another thing.

    When I hear people call him Hitler, or bemoan this "rise of fascism", I think of how nice it would be if I could build a time machine and **** them into late 20s Germany, so they can experience for themselves the kind of scenario in which something as dark as fascism can gain the traction to come to light...

    It is, but the Republicans have become more in favour of protectionism in recent years. The US isn't even that reliant on global energy markets any more thanks to fracking.

    Sure, a trade war between the US and China (which I've no doubt the Chinese will back away from if they see Trump being serious about it) might damage Europe and the rest of the world, but America will probably be able to come out of it relatively unscathed.
