    Then we had Hillary threatening to enforce a no-fly-zone over Syria if she became POTUS. I doubt that she was stupid enough to think that shooting down Russian planes was a good idea. More likely it was just more of her two-faced crooked policy of saying whatever she thinks will play well with the meeja at the time.

    A quick phone call from The Donald to Putin, and the whole sorry mess there could be sorted out this side of Christmas. But realistically I expect it will take about 6 months for major hostilities to cease, and IS to be consigned to the dustbin of history.

    Spare a thought for poor Enda, he'll have a lot of wriggling and squirming to do.
    Pressed earlier this week about his reaction to the businessman's controversial remarks on immigration, women and Muslims, Mr Kenny described his comments as "racist and dangerous" and said the American people had an alternative to vote for.
    That was then. This is now.

    Sorry, the election is over and you lost. I am no big fan of Trump or his crassness but at least I can see why he won. The usual self appointed elites in the establishment were too busy calling him and his supporters names rather then seeing what was actually going on in the ground. Take the media for example, just have a peep on RTE now over the next few days and you will see their bias when it comes to Trump. Some people were not far literally crying on air. Pathetic stuff.

    Michael Moore, someone who we can all call a progressive had been screaming from the roof tops over the past few weeks about Michigan and how he could see on the ground the reality that it would go for the Trump. Everyone else knew better of course. Sure what would he know.... stupid white man he is. Aren't all white men just stupid and angry?:rolleyes:

    People must examine now their rhetoric and see if its part of the problem and who is it really helping. The media especially, who was blatantly in the tank for Clinton (see wikileaks) must examine their role in this debacle as well.

    Yes it was good that at least Trump and his supporters never resorted to childish name calling.

    Honestly why is the left always held to a higher standard on this. If the right does it we are told to go away with any pc nonsense but when the left points out the opposing candidate is a racist then suddenly it is very mean and immature.

    Well, it's a bit strange that the same people who worked themselves into a seething lather for months about one candidate's private email server were apparently untroubled by the much, much more private email server in Trump Tower that only ever communicated with Alfa Bank in Moscow.

    I'm sure there's a perfectly innocent explanation for it, and for why it disappeared without a trace as soon as people started asking questions about it. There's probably also no connection to the fact that Trump seems more inclined to support Putin's agenda than NATO's, and the fact that Trump lied about the national security briefings that told him that the Russians had, indeed, hacked the DNC's emails.

    Nothing to see here. Move along...

    Why should he wriggle or squirm? I don't get that idea. The guy is sexist and racist. That's not an attack it's a statement of fact. Just because he's the president elect doesn't change that. Kenny should straighten his spine and hold strong to his opposition to such a person.

    No one said you have to like Hillary because jayze. Literally no one. What happened was he liked her and so explained why and entertained some of her crowds for her. What you are suggesting is that some people were turned off because jayze supported Hillary. Why? You seem to be saying that we shouldn't care who jayz supports but are willing to go against him for the sake of being contrary?

    Also you can support the common man without supporting his politics. I support the right of many muslims to not get harassed/atracked on the street (and David Quinn but I don't he needs it) even if many have views on homosexuality that I find horrific.

    Well it seems that Enda phoned the Donald last night, did the required grovelling, and made sure his rightful invitation to the White House on 17th March was still "good to go".
    The Taoiseach made a swift U-turn on his opinion of the President Elect yesterday, having previously called him “dangerous” and “racist” in the Dáil.
    I'm just saying it was imprudent and unprofessional for the PM of this country to libel the (potentially) next POTUS.
    Its OK for you to do it, you're just a random anonymous internet poster.
    Look to Obama's conduct in the last 24hours for a model of professionalism.

    You are proving my point. Trump was a registered Democrat up to a number of years ago. He is not a Republican by any traditional sense. The two ex Bush presidents didn't vote for him, nor did the last two nominees, Romney or McCain back him. Trump is a third party candidate that hijacked the GOP.

    As for news outlets, well if you can prove that news outlets gave Trump questions for a debate before the debate ala Clinton and CNN then maybe you are onto something but alas I think you are mistaken. :)

    Your missing the point spectacularly. Celebrities are fine in their own right, they make music, movies, sex tapes, hang around cool chic bars and chew the fat with other wanna be hipster millionaires while sipping on their $50 organic cherry cocktail sprinkled with gold dust. They do this while bemoaning and sneering at the likes of Trump and all his supporters. Because Madonna has the same life experience as someone from the rust belt, of course.

    However, when it comes to politics it was thought that having someone like Bon Jovi or Bob Geldof in your corner gave some type of connection to the ordinary guy, makes you relatable, likeable.

    Hey, look at me hanging out with Lady Gaga, *selfie*. Please vote for me, just cause, I'm cool! :D:pac::):rolleyes:

    It actually turns out that this turns more people off then anything. Politicians would be wise to run away from this type of endorsement in the future. It just makes you look like a pompous twat and far removed from the problems people are going through.
