    Really? Which nations in particular?

One of the things he's promised to do first is roll back on the recent diplomatic relations with Cuba

In fact they have just began a major military drill in light of Trump's win

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/cuba-announces-nationwide-military-exercises-43414189

But sure, Donald is going to fix all the world's problems

Let's see what he does before we crucify him.

People were going on about how Obama was the second coming, competent, Nobel peace prize winning guy who would fix everything, end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and save the world. How has that worked out so far?

The fact that Gary Johnson received 4,024,802 votes cast should show that Trump winning is no surprise really. A lunatic libertarian who doesn't even know that Allepo is the capital of Syria received 3% of votes.

Paul Ryan Speaker of the House...your fired!!!

On most issues, Trump and the Republicans seem to agree: getting rid of Obamacare, reducing taxes, investment in infrastructure (though they differ on how it should be financed), illegal immigrant and the Iran deal. Sure, the Republicans aren't particularly enamoured by how he conveys his ideas, but they've more in common than in difference.

We might just go an entire season of the White House without anyone getting fired

That's overly-simplistic. If someone acts in a racist, sexist, fascist way, it's not entirely unreasonable to guess at least some of their supporters feel the same way.

It's not like we're talking about two different football teams or something here. You can look at a lot of what Trump and some of his supporters have said, and the racism, sexism, and fascism is there to see.

    Interesting slant.

Liberal sides have lost two major elections this year, both of which involved strong polling for their cause up until the vote itself. In both cases they accused the politicians/individuals on the other side of the vote as being anti-immigrant, sexist, racist, bigot, misogynists, and they extended this rather courteous treatment to those who voted against their own views. It's a rather ugly tactic used by this group, and completely ignores any other possible reasons, valid ones, for how the vote went the way it did. In both cases it's clear that the media and others are looking to find certain strands of voters to "blame" the outcome on! As usual it's open season on white males, but in no way is that ever viewed as a problematic criticism. You can add in the older age groups or "uneducated" in the blame game.

The way the more fluffy kitten "think of the children" types claim a monopoly on virtue is sickening. Controlling the sentiment of the airwaves on facebook and twitter is not how democracy works, you have your say in the ballot box and that's that. Finding problems with the results of this is in some way bigoted, intolerant and in most cases both sexist and racist itself!

When it doesn't go your way it's not because of racism or sexism. Grow up!

He was an excellent President and will be kindly remembered by history. And actual historians. This thread really belongs in the conspiracy forum.

Allepo isn't a place, and Aleppo isn't the capital of Syria. That's Damascus.

First Brexit. Now Trump. I think meme magic might be real after all :D

Whether the Donald will the M.A.G.A or not, time will tell. Meanwhile, the ocean of salt from lefties in the media and on the internet is fun to watch.

The difference is that Trump has actually said these things. It's the platform he ran on, and he'll be expected to stay true to his word.

He has said that he's going to end diplomatic ties with countries, undo the Iran deal, renege on trade deals with China etc.

So when someone comes along claiming that he's going to foster ties with such countries, I think it's fair to call bullshit

You have no clue as to the nuances of their relationship. In any event it has no bearing on anything of interest to the public. I'm not sure of the relevance of the 2nd wife reference. Is divorce a stick to beat people with? It's a rather unpleasant business for all concerned, and I suspect anyone who has been through it would not make such a comment. It shouldn't be shamed.

It's funny, when it's Trumps wife it's ok to have a pop at the relatively weak English of the immigrant!

Who cares about how nice Obama was to his wife! Their phoney way of managing their public image was beyond the pale. He was a particularly big fan of using his social media to publicise his happy perfect marriage to the world. He took a lot of dignity out of the role in his time in it!

Fortunately they elect the person on the strength of their credentials for the role, not a judgement of their marriages!

The Israelis are delighted. A Trump win has ended any hopes of a Palestine state

What existed before was not working and it was Hillary who was accusing the Russians of hacking. She was the diplomat in all this. America's foreign policy is bogus and Hillary siding with the most corrupt and sinister countries in the world did not do her campaign well at all.

They'd have been delighted either outcome, it's not like Clinton was going to abandon them after Obama approved a $38bn aid package for the IDF.

At the end of the day it was the DNC who have messed this up. Sanders or any other candidate would have wiped the floor with Trump but there was just enough dirt of Clinton to bring her down.
The FBI director knew what he was doing when he released the information a week before the election, Trump will be forever in his debt as I believe that was the winning and losing of the election. The letter of no wrong doing came too late, the damage had been done

    Yeah fair cop guv.

I still think he should refrain from the sort of North Korean PR show they build up around themselves, but you have a point.

It will be fun to see the various comedy shows in the US and how they react, the campaign has proved that Trump is very thin skinned when it comes to the p1ss being taken out of him. Would he dare try and censor them...:D

Sadly, I think that's the way elections and politics are going to be from now on. The US election and the Brexit campaigns have shown how little relevance facts have when compared to alarmist comments that panic people. It's all about the cult of personality and not ability. Wouldn't be surprised if it's all decided by Simon Cowell next time out. :D

It seems to be part of the current left wing shift gripping this country that democracy is fantastic if it goes your way and when it doesn't you can have a sort of adult tantrum.
Time to grow up. Face facts. The people who Clinton needed to get out and vote for her just couldn't be bothered and they didn't.
You can hand wring all day about WHY that is but bottom line is, that's what happened so suck it up.
I'm as revolted as the next person by this creep but the people got their chance and they didn't take it.
Beware of straying into fascism. You can't stop other people from expressing themselves, by crying out how offended and triggered you are, just because you don't like what they're saying .
    It's over now.
