i rarely watch the show, I just happened to see those but everytime I watch there's something weird/awkward. The late late thread don't seem to think he's blessed with the skills you suggest, and they can't all be wrong, can they? That thread is rather like this one, people tune in not for the skills of the host, more the lack of them and to see what weird turn the show will take under the host's mishandling of topics. It's the car crash tv version of Duffy's car crash radio show, so to speak; only as it's on tv we can see the colour of the car.
