What it will mean for Ireland, (50000 - 60000)
return of of thousands of Irish to Ireland who are illegal in the US

    J1 visa program abolished
    awkward St Paddy's day ahead

anything good come out it for us?

Eh, no world war 3? Clinton is a war mongrel playing Russian Roulette with Putin for a long time now. He plans to ease international tensions and strengthen them with countries like Russia.

That's before you get into things like Clinton funding Saudi Arabia back and fourth with illegal money, SA fund ISIS and she wanted open borders. It would have been the end of the US like what's happening in France and Germany right now. If he can work with people like Putin to end ISIS it's only a good thing for Ireland.

She makes me want to hurl ever since she lied to the families of victims in Benghazi, then went on TV calling them liars. The woman is pure evil.

Definitely a time for our politicians to find a bit of fake/dubious Irish Donald Trump ancestry, and get down on their knees and kiss his arse on a red carpet.

His family was part-Scottish aye? Looks like we'll be reviving the Gaelic Connection with the SNP.

Tough sh*t if you cannot be arsed to vote. And it's highly likely it wouldn't affect the overall breakdown at all. Deal with it, a tonne of women from all backgrounds voted for Trump. But that doesn't fit your agenda so lets presume every poor little civilian (and ever poor civilian is a woman right?) who was dramatically prevented from voting but the Trump fuelled Illuminati would have voted for Hillary, every last single one of them....feel better now?

I completely agree with the attitude that if you don't vote then tough ****. But I'm not going to deal with a misogynist acting as head of my country. Free speech exists and I'm going to scream about it until he's kicked right out or until the next election, whichever comes first. And if it doesn't fit your "sexism against women doesn't exist" agenda then crawl back into your safe space or move to Iraq.

When the immigration problems starts to hit the fan more and more over here and in Europe, we'll have a President who will at the very least, be on our level in terms of protecting Ireland.

    That's a big one.

Yes, these imaginary immigration problems will hit any day now. Any day.

Yes , its a rather amazing situation, its hard to extract what this means in terms of women voters

    (a) The glass ceiling is irrelevant ?
    (b) Locker room talk has little effect on the vast majority of women ( do they secretly expect men to be like that ) ?
    (c) A women president is not necessarily a womens friend?

    hard to know

actually its exactly that , in a age of social media and 24/7 TV , a sports competition ( or more correctly a reality TV programme ) , Trump know this better then anyone. Its matters not what you say in elections, his feet will not be held to the fire, he will campaign on a 2nd term exactly in the same way , ( blame others , fear etc )

I personally dont fear Trump, I certainly would've preferred Jeb Bush, but Id take Trump over Cruz and the other ideologues. ideologues are very dangerous people, Trump is a complete pragmatist , he has no moral compass , he will chop and change and " do the deal ".

Pence on the other hand scares me

Note ISIS is over , are you following the situation in Mosul, unfortunately of course , another group will take its place

It may have been treated like a reality TV show by the Duck but I find it hard to believe that people who voted for all the radical bizarre mad ideas he came up with will vote for him again next time when he can't possibly deliver 10% of it. Especially if the Democrats come up with a candidate that isn't as universally despised as Hillary.

What is truly scary is the Duck has let the genie out of the bottle, a candidate can come from nowhere, with zero political experience and literally say whatever he wants to get elected (cf the Brexit campaign) and he can succeed.

In an age where there has never been more access to information, I think people have never been so stupid.

Was there as much outrage when Reagan, an actor, was elected? Was there as much outrage when Arnold was elected governer?
I thought he would win, but didn't believe he would. Think that sums it up best. I doubt much will actually change.

I don't agree that everyone who voted for Trump is a racist, misogynist, homophobe etc. However, everyone who voted for Trump, voted for a racist and a homophobe and a misogynist. Of that there is no denying.

It was probably drawn among ideological lines before it was drawn on gender lines. A large segment of white women have tended to vote Republican anyway, Hillary's real mobilisation was supposed to be among minorities and having some sway on women voting Republican but it looks like there wasn't really that much of a tremendous shift.

I'd assume it's power politics at play, white Republicans (men or women) saw voting Republican as a way to secure their position, whereas minorities tended to vote Democrat because the Democrats tended to secure their position.

    d) Hillary Clinton is a total weapon!
    e) They just overlooked the OTT negative reports about him, and liked his policies.
