Typical social media warriors out in force this morning battling their keyboards to make a difference to the world.

I always love when stuff like this happens in America and to watch the Irish reaction.

If there was this much scrutiny and interest in our own elections.....

I'm furious at living in a world where abuse of women is tolerated in every country, including our own!

    Let's uprise!

eh? who tolerates abusing woman him in this country?

Woman are treated better in ireland than in any country in the world...you should start to travel around a bit and take your head out of the sand.

And yet a much worse candidate than her was voted in a country that has never elected a woman to that candidacy. But I'm sure that had nothing to do with it.

Saying mean things and being a dick head is definitely not worse than actually being responsible for people's deaths, for fúck sake. Get rid of your victim complex.

Thats certainly a party political message on behalf of Trump, whats unclear is actually HOW he will deliver that . Having " make america great " as a slogan is easy, actually doing so , is incredibly difficult

They like Slogans over there. People fell for the "Yes , we Can" crap with Obama. That quickly led to "No , you can not. We will block you" in the Houses.

The middle classes and people who work hard in the states were better off under Trump. Simple as that.

Because he's going to make America great again! AMIRITE??

When you say you would prefer a reincarnated Hitler to Clinton, you really paint yourself as at best an idiot and that is at best. Hitler ordered the extermination of six million Jews, just reminding you.

Hillary would have killed 6 million people within her first year of office. Killing innocent people is something she seems to hold no qualms about. Great day to see Feminism truly be shattered again.

In other words, they're ashamed of their opinion because they're incapable of justifying it.

very sad to see people like this hold these views.

Well, considering Merica has a habbit of dragging many of his Allies in Europe into unwinnable wars and the "victims" coming to Europe to make pay back........yep, we in Europe are very concerned about what goes down in the USA. Especially the economy too.

Wish people would stop calling him "The Donald ", its old , unfunny , pretentious , Dublin south -sidey terminology ala Ryan Tubridy/ Aine lawlor /RTE and their like.

And they will continue to employ people here... You know the Government isn't going to let them turn their HQ into Bahamas-brass plates, right? The Central Bank said the same thing about British firms looking to relocate here, they're not allowed to just have 1 or 2 people here and put all their profits through, they need to have actual investment here.

You think? .... in Obama's time there was talk of sweetheart deals to bring US companies back to the US. What do you think Trump will do? Not sweetheart deals for sure. He'd not think twice about levying a huge tax on them to make it economically unviable for them to stay abroad and effectively force them back to the US. It's possible, don't think for a second it isn't. Trump is an unknown quantity politically, and a risk taking, high roller as a business man. Don't underestimate him.

I think people are being and have been hard on Trump. He's not a politician he's a man, nobody knows what he can or can't bring to the table. As for Clinton I hope jail is still on the cards.

Congrats to the Donald, now will all the celebs who said they were going to leave keep good on their promise.

Just like Ray D'Arcy's threatened flounce to away if Kenny was elected, I presume they'll just retreat to their safe spce echo chambers and sulk endlessly.

Just when you think Americans can't get any thicker, they elect this ****in clown as president. They will come to regret this.

Many a president have gone before him with great slogans too.

Hillary Clinton is a war criminal, but hey better kill millions of innocents than elects someone who doesn't want to feed illegal immigrants.

Bush was also a war criminal.

Trump is not Hitler, and by comparing him to one of the biggest evil men that ever was you are devaluing one the greatest horrors in history.

Dial it back a bit, snowflake.

Edit, I realise now that Jericho responded to Burial who started "reincarnated Hitler" so I suppose my post is towards him.

All hail the Trump, elected on 9/11 on a platform of racism, misogyny, hatred and multiple lies.

Now, for the messy bit: the original 9/11 (attacks) succeeded, this election is the result of the polarisation and paranoia those attacks planted. OBL won.

PS after Russia, Turkey, UK and US, we better invest in education NOW to curb this fascist trend.

unfortunately , politics needs politicians , in the same way medicine needs doctors. What we have is a plumber employed as a brain surgeon

None of that makes sense whatsoever. They already repatriate money out of Ireland to places like the Caymans. That money is no longer in Ireland, and that money is what he wants back in the country.

Trump doesn't care about 6000 people in Cork, he cares about the $200bn sitting in the Bahamas that could support 5 times as many people in the US. Trump isn't going to go on a crusade against little old Ireland, it simply isn't worth the political capital it would cost.

No doubt Enda will be on the phone to congratulate him and lick some hole in his usual smarmy fashion as soon as possible.
snivelling little toerag should be made crawl into the White House with the bowl of shamrock

He gets lambasted for calling Trumps comments our for what they were, he gets lambasted for licking up to him (which actually hasn't even happened).

    Who'd be a politician.

Hopefully Trump will do us a favour and refuse the st patricks day audience unless Enda goes ...every cloud has a silver lining and all that .
