You think? .... in Obama's time there was talk of sweetheart deals to bring US companies back to the US. What do you think Trump will do? Not sweetheart deals for sure. He'd not think twice about levying a huge tax on them to make it economically unviable for them to stay abroad and effectively force them back to the US. It's possible, don't think for a second it isn't. Trump is an unknown quantity politically, and a risk taking, high roller as a business man. Don't underestimate him.

None of that makes sense whatsoever. They already repatriate money out of Ireland to places like the Caymans. That money is no longer in Ireland, and that money is what he wants back in the country.

Trump doesn't care about 6000 people in Cork, he cares about the $200bn sitting in the Bahamas that could support 5 times as many people in the US. Trump isn't going to go on a crusade against little old Ireland, it simply isn't worth the political capital it would cost.
