Personally I have the view that Trump is not a conservative , and his speech was full of old style FDR style rhetoric , ( build infrastructure etc ) that's will require even more taxes

Just look at FG policy to see the arrogance and contempt of the establishment, the country is crying out for social housing but they insist on relying on the dirty developers.
People are only getting angrier change now or suffer the consequences.

I'm delighted this morning. I'm so glad he got in and might shake things up a bit, the previous way wasn't really working for most Americans! Great news! Finally the people who were being ignored for so long are making a statement, Pennsylvanian steel workers, Northern Englanders. Who knows where this is going but it's exciting. I can't wait for an Irish Trump or Brexit to come along so we can shake up our rotten system!

I thought the same, he was barely 5 min President and he was already speaking like one of 'them'.

Can we set up a GoFund me account?

Work away, it only takes one person to do it.

If my family left me as much money as Trumps did his, I could go on a decades long bender of coke, hookers and casinos and still have a positive net value at the end of it all.

Do you know how difficult it would be even still to build an empire like that? If it was easy every millionaire on the planet would do it. Trump apparently started with 1 million which is a lot but he grew it to something extreme. And to not get away from my point, he is a successful businessman who knows how to win. He's learned from failures and success

How are you lads celebrating The Donald's glorious victory?

I will be skyping later with my American friend. He's one of the deplorables that Clinton and her kind despise.

I'm speechless. How could the Americans have been so ****ing stupid.
    Goodbye FDI.

Did Hillary distance herself from her KKK photo? No because neither are stupid enough to even acknowledge the existence of a hateful group. I don't think trump would want to bring attention to the kkk supporting Jim would you? I wouldn't even acknowledge them

That still leaves the racism and fascism. Please don't attempt to argue that he is neither of those things, I don't want to think any less of you.

Yet we will continue to vote the same cronies in. George Orwell said that the electorate are as much to blame as the crooked politicians. Will it be a FF or FG government next? Does it matter? No.

That would be great actually. Hopefully whoever this person will be doesn't have the sexist, racist, misogynistic, disability mocking baggage that Trump has.

I was surprised to hear that Clinton never visited Wisconsin after winning the primary there. Seems a bit lazy? Where else did she not bother to campaign in?

I wanted her to win but it did bug me a bit that a lot of publications talked about when she won, not if. That seems like wilfully ignoring the mood of the people.

I think she must genuinely be in shock right now.

I was disappointed, now I'm 'meh'. You've made your choice, US, I hope it works out!

I'll be "celebrating" by thinking of the poor innocent people who were killed and tortured in Libya due to Hillarys s warmongering corporate funded foreign policies. Evil bitch.

    The President doesn't run America.

He's just a puppet on a string. It became a joke when they elected Reagan.

Shouldn't you be posting on tumblr about how unsafe you feel right now?

It 'll be interesting to see how Ireland votes next time around, looking at this outcome and brexit. Will we take a step into the unknown and maybe take the nuclear option?

Celebrating? I mean not because someone won, but I don't understand celebrating a politician winning, always seemed bizarre to me, before they have made a single decision. Especially when it's not going to affect you at all, or is it just to be 'cool'?

When president Nixon, Jimmy Carter Ronald Reagan was elected it never made a difference to my life, Same with George bush, Bill Clinton, George bush2 Obama , nothing changed for me, I don't expect anything different this time either with president trump.

    RTE is in shock.

Sad, this view. The concept of breaking things to fix things is just such a lie. History provides dozens of examples

    So..

When do you think we should expect the first boat full of refugees, you know, who are fleeing to avoid persecution?

I'm no fan of Trump, but this is a ridiculous and hysterical comment.

What a fatuous remark. You can deflect the fact that Trump is a fascist and a racist all day but challenge yourself and tell me how he isn't, if your cognitive ability allows it.

I also don't like slagging of people who took the decision to vote , same with bretix, The people have spoken respect there disision, Unless you live here when it don't go your way. Go to the polls again n again.

No. What we have is a disenfranchised group that has been feed lies and hate politics. Just like Brexit. Now we shall see the lies exposed. All these promises cannot be delivered.
