Ballyea will beat the Glen in the final. Patrickswell v Glen Rovers was poor stuff. Horgan pulled them through when it mattered most but I think Ballyea will have to much for them.

they had 13 or 14 wides today which is similar to ballyea it will be close and could be a horgan v kelly shootout , form wont count for much , it's new territory for both sets of teams i would expect this to go to the wire again

He was in the OFB panel yesterday afternoon though I didn't hear it.

To be fair, Mayo lads have won several Connacht titles and gotten to plenty All Ireland finals. Gary has a division 3 title. He's a fine fine footballer but it's unfair to suggest Mayo All-Stars are because of media appearances.

Ya, heard him few times on OTB panel. Also does the panel with Dara O'Cinneide as he's a fluent Irish speaker, being a teacher. Met him once after we'd beaten Clare in a football game in Ennis, dead sound guy.
To be fair, any of the opposition Mayo beat in the last 5 Connacht finals would not have beaten Clare or Tipp either. Its usually a soft passage for them to an AI semi. My point is that there is 1 or 2 Mayo players in particular that have received seriously 'soft' All-Stars.

I can see your point but I just feel that win today will do wonders for Ballyea's confidence especially they way they came back and also I feel they're a better balanced side. Great to see 2 news clubs in it aswell though.

was at the Glen/Pwell game today. Horgan scored 8, 6 from frees, 3 or 4 0f those were fouls on him. P/well knew going into the game that Horgan was the man to watch but they failed to do so. They scored 14 points, not enough to win a game at this level. If they had a player of Tony Kellys class they would have won easily. Then again, what club has a Tony Kelly.

not many have a pat horgan either , but you are right , tony usally runs the show for ballyea , normally there froward line is not as potent as it has been in recent weeks , tony averages about 0-8 to 0-10 points a game what swings it for ballyea is usally who else chips in with scores , normally pearse lillis and padjo connelly are good for a few along with niall deasy but in reacent times the likes of brennan and damien burke and the back line have started to make an impact on the score board they will need to repeat that if they want to win a munster , thurles were the better side for at least 45 minutes today , missed two very blatant goal chances , as a man who has watched them alot over the years other then kelly and deasy they can struggle for scores

Horgan is not as hard to mark as Kelly though.
Late in the game yesterday Horgan was surrounded by 4 P/Well players in an impossible position near the corner flag, he still managed to rise the ball and draw a free, which he scored to give the Glen the lead. I honestly couldn't see something like this happening against the Ballyea backs.

It a pity Colm Collins couldn't get Paudie Kissane back on board as replacement for Mick Bohan. Kissane involved with Limerick backroom team now.

So Podge is going to concentrate on the hurling this year. Obviously a tough decision for him but think it's the correct one.

Yeah I think its fair to say that he is more of a key player for the hurlers, compared to usually coming off the bench for the footballers. That said he is still a valuable player for them, but it is probably the right call.

Great performance by Ballyea in that first half.

Ballyea playing very well here. Team has grown in confidence massively. Tony putting on a clinic once again. But by god glen rovers are very poor.

    Hopefully they'll stay poor:).

going to take a huge effort from glen now and I just can't see it. Ball yea first to everything. Look fitter and faster.

And to think we beat ballyea by 9 points at start of the championship :(

Glen have the bad habit of giving teams a good lead before coming back at them. They did it against Bishoostown and Sars and again today. Today was a bridge too far.

Some season for Ballyea. Look a fine well rounded team.

Well done Ballyea, what a day for their community.

Tony Kelly's workload over the winter and spring will have to be managed now. But he is completely on another level at club hurling.

Comhghairdeas from Cork. Ye were the better team and fully deserving winners. Showed up the many deficiencies in Cork hurling today.

But will someboday pass on a message to that fool of a Ballyea goalkeeper. Wearing a Munster rugby top in Munster hurling final. Has the clown any cop on!

The goalie wearing the rugby top looked terrible

And, truth be told, he played rather terrible too. Dreadful mistake for Glen's 1st goal and another error by fluffing his clearance attempt near the end.

great win for ballyea , responded well after conceding the two goals , each was hit back with a score from play , the backs were under serious pressure for a good 20 minute spell in the second and put in a serious shift

gudgie and deasy stood out as the best players on the field and lets hope the new clare management dosent forget about them as quickly as the last fella did , deasy has been putting in serious performances like this over the last 3 years and compleatly over looked by fitz ,

its hard to imagine tony kelly getting a better chance now of winning an all ireland club it would be fantastic if it dose happen but a long way to go for that to happen . we have waited 16 years for a clare club to win munster so i imagine no one is thinking of st patricks day tonight on the outskirts of ennis

Enda Coughlan has retired from intercounty football. A great servant to the county since making senior debut in 2004. Played 28 Championship games scoring 2-17

J@ysus, 12 years and only 28 games played, shows you how often Clare were a 2 and out team in the championship

half true , in fairness he had a couple of bad injuries plus he is still only 30 which is fair young for a guy with 12 years inter county behind him i reckon if injuries had not taken such a hold on his career he would have crossed the 50 mark in championship games , but yeah there were times i really felt sorry for the likes of himself and one or two others back in the division 4 days loseing all the time in the qualifiers and that

it is a warning for the hurlers though if a guy like enda is retiring at 30 , we have lots of guys falling into the same bracket with the hurlers at the moment that started out as young at inter county level , how many will still be standing in 7/8 years time
