There's not the money, do they not realise the country is bust? Giving them the money they want and having them reture at 60 would be best option to save the country money.

She's lucky the alarm is still heeded - it gets to go on a 'faulty alarm' list and gets ignored.

Is there a time limit for how long you hold someone for a citizens arrest?

    Dear snubbleste,
The programme of 23 September was part of a series that week in which the living conditions of asylum seekers in Ireland were examined in detail.
Cllr Seamus Traynor came on the programme with a particular point of view on immigration. Cllr Traynor was challenged robustly on his views. As a public representative, he is probably well accustomed to this kind of discussion.

Obviously we are disappointed that you weren't satisfied with the way the broadcast was handled , but I would have to strongly disagree that Joe Duffy ‘lied to the public’ as you state.
Many thanks though for getting in touch. It's always good to get the views of listeners on Liveline programme content.

But for fairness whoy did he challenge Traynor robustly yet let everything the people staying in direct provision centres said go without any heavy questioning as to how they financed their trip to Ireland, how they went through many safe countries to get here etc etc.

It depends if their legs are still working.

My complaint specifically was that Joe said Traynor had been on air ten minutes, when in fact it was six minutes.
Also Traynor said "excuse the pun" and having a canary, Joe later said that Traynor stated that the woman had given birth to a canary..or some such
    Both complaints were ignored
