The little match girl story, it use to upset and frighten me thinking about a little girl freezing to death and how poor her family were.

Sheep, mainly the ones with black faces, I was absolutely petrified of them and wouldn't walk down a road that had fields of sheep either side.

The universe. Just expanding, expanding. Uncontrollably. Into nothingness, where it could go on expanding forever.
Used to have nightmares about it constantly aged 8 - 12.

That and the music that started to play in Sonic 2 when you started to drown.

    The washing machine.
The big giant car wash with the fluffy washers on either side that filling stations have. I would lose my life with the panic if Mam or Dad decided to get the car washed in one of them with me inside.

i developed a fear of car washes as a child after the machine jammed on the runners and we were stuck for about 10 minutes with the fluffy washers on the windscreen and side windows going full whack

Didnt go into one until my mid 20's after that still not 100% comfortable in them:D

The "head of Jesus" in a glass case in St. Michael's church in Inchicore. Terrified of it.

There was a pair of runners hanging off a telephone line near our local shops.

Dad told me God sucked a fella up to heaven but he got caught on the cable !

Never walked past that pole till I was about 13

The attic door being outside my bedroom after watching the episode of the simpsons where Bart has an evil twin who lives in the attic.

I'm well over it as the attic door is inside my room now!

Haha! I always thought that the attic was a place that contained old toys and stuff. I couldn't wait for the day to be tall enough to finally be able to climb up.

Any time I seemed to ask my mam where something was like, say my old baby clothes, she always seemed to say "oh theyre up in the attic".

Ghostbusters 2 when the baby is on the ledge and the ghost comes with the pram. I still can't look at Peter Nicol/McNicol, whatever his name is, I am NOT googling him.

The children's cartoon Mighty Mouse, I couldn't bear to have it on tv, it terrified me. I have no idea why!

I had an odd thing about going upstairs at night on my own if the light wasn't on. Not sure what the exact fear was, something "other worldly", a ghost, they devil etc, that it'd get me if I didn't run. Once I got past a certain point on the stairs I'd believe I was safe and could slow down then.

Oh and the ghost of Christmas past that I believed would take the form of Goofy from Disney's A Christmas Carol.

Freddy Krueger, watched NOES when I was 6 :D Every night when the lights went out I would be petrified he was going to come out of the wardrobe. Even the adverts or theme tune for Freddys Nightmares would scare the absolute **** out of me.
