It crossed my mind last night though. Possibly for the first time since I started playing the game.

I'm always in the 'you must own Aguero' camp but with so many options scoring well, and several vaible captains most weeks, for once, it may be possibe that the extra 3m spread around wisely would cover the Aguero-Costa difference.

Charlie Austin has 2 points less that Aguero in 107 less minutes playing time.

It may actually be time to re-examine the Aguero comfort blanket.

The extra funds are very tempting, If Chelsea didn't have Utd next gw, I'd probably do the transfer now, on the flipside, Aguero should have scored twice on Saturday :pac:

Rage-transferred out half my team last night. Can't even remember who I shipped out, or who I got in.

Careful with the stats my FSA friends.

8 games played. Agüero missed 2 through suspension. This week-end, he only played 35 min (return from international break and Barça away midweek, the 1 pointer was expected, only 2 pts lost there in reality). Then he blanked twice. Dare I say only once. Away to Spurs was a tricky fixture and Man City & Guardiola can lose games. So his only real fail was in City 3-1 home win vs WH.

We'll have to see how much he could be prone to rotation in Guardiola's scheme. But Agüero in a Guardiola team... I'd not be comfortable to be a non-owner.

City next PL game is home to Saints, the best defensive team in the league and then Pulis away (though Pulis is not yet Pulis) so we'll see how they fare. And after it's 3 glorious fixtures (though Burnley away is currently harder than it looks like). If Agüero compares the same with other strikers after these 5 games than he does now, I may reassess. But 'till then, I feel we all have other priorities!

Don't understand the Augero panic. Looking at his fixtures I'd be somewhat confident of just leaving him as my captain until the end of Nov, very favourable fixtures. For me he has nice fixtures all the way up until Christmas - Toughest teams they play against up until the end of the year are Southampton, Chelsea & Arsenal. All of which they play at home. Play Middlesborough in 3GW so to not have him in for that would be criminal.

Saints might be missing Bertrand, Soares and Targett so would still see that as a favourable fixture.

The value in Aguero is that he is so captainable. Ok he stung everyone who captained him this week but he's delivered so far this year. Aguero has 5 goals in 6 games... ignoring him getting assists (none yet), I'd captain him every week if he could keep up that scoring form which in this City team you'd expect he will keep running close to those numbers.

Even ignoring stats etc., I'd hate to be going into every weekend not having him it'd be horrible

Selling Aguero at this stage of the season is madness in my opinion. I could understand it towards the end of the season if you are chasing a money league lead and in need of a good differential. As stated above, not having Kun for Middlesbrough at home would just be insane as nearly everyone will captain him for that if he's fit and in decent form.

    Aguero's fixtures until new years:

    Southampton (H)
    West Brom (A)
    M-Boro (H)
    Palace (A)
    Burnley (A)
    Chelsea (H)
    Leicester (A)
    Watford (H)
    Arsenal (H)
    Hull (A)
    Liverpool (A)
    Burnley (H)

I'll repeat. These are Sergio Aguero's fixtures.

That's right Kun Aguero of goalscoring fame.

Problem is that Guardiola showed at the weekend that he has no problem benching him. The likes of Boro at home is exactly the type of game you'd want to captain him in but also exactly the type of game that Pep could rest him in. I've always been in the "always captain Aguero" camp but this season I think I'm going to be more selective about when I captain him especially on weeks where there's other good options.

Beware though. This GW was a bit "special". Return from international break where Agüero played 2 games for Argentina including the latter one where he was in some discomfort and 4 days before a crucial (after their draw in Celtic Park) away game in Barça.

Aguero > Costa was only a random thought on my behalf, would have also involved a hit to do Eriksen > KDB so was never likely a runner.

    Soooo.....Benteke > Austin anyone?? :D

This is true, special circumstances. Still feel Pep is not going to be like Pellegrini though and play him til he breaks.

    Austins minutes are a worry
Don't think he has completed 90 in a year maybe 2?

I won't be selling Aguero by the way. Just wanted to spark some debate.

But it is worthy of debate. If City had a tough run of fixtures combined with maybe big CL knockout games, while e.g. Costa had some good fixtures, I'd see it as an option. Whereas I wouldn't have before.

When Guardiola was at Barca, he almost never rested Messi, Xavi or Iniesta. Even in games where they should have been rested, he always seemed to played them. I imagine the same will apply to Aguero and KDB this season.

It helps that Iheanacho was ineffective on Saturday too.

    Yeah he was atrocious.

    Still might take it though

You know as well as I do it'll end in tears. -12 is risky in the extreme but double that just seems totally needless.

    I've taken a -12 and a -20 hit this season already!

Some times you just have to roll the dice one more time

    I took a -12.

    Foster > Pickford
    Kone > Koscielny
    Capoue > Allen
    Antonio > Walcott

Still not entirely happy with my team, but in the cold light of day, that's not too bad. I had been planning to get rid of all those players over the next few weeks anyway.

The only one I regret is Capoue to Allen. Would have been better off getting a cheaper midfielder like Fletcher or someone and leaving some cash in the bank for next week's meltdown.

The trio you mentioned didn't suffer too much with injuries though AFAIK. KDB and Kun have a history of breaking down, so common sense says they'll have to be managed well (including internationals it's a very long stretch of games at a rate of 2 games every week). With this in mind Sterling may prove the best to own, maybe until into the new year when the fixture pile-up will ease (slightly). That said I have Kun and am keeping him :P he's still gonna score loads we all know it, it might just require being a bit more savvy choosing the gws to captain him

Looking at my squad and I've got about 7/8 players I'm happy with and the rest I'd be more than happy to see the back of.

That's not good a few weeks after the WC.

Although it's 2 attackers and the rest in defence I'm not happy with so manageable enough.

Especially as the clean sheet fairy continues her random sprinkling technique of clean sheet allocation.

Antonio out, Walcott in. Been meaning to do that for two weeks now, but forgot.

Ibra > Lukaku done. 1 FT left.
Midfield is Firmino, Sanchez, Bolasie, Puncheon, Capoue
I am thinking of taking a hit to do Puncheon and Capoue > Alli and Fletcher.
I could do Bolasie to Walcott without taking a hit, but
    1. Everton are in good form and have good fixtures.
    2. I already have Sanchez
    3. I have no Spurs attackers
    Any advice?

I'd rather have two Arsenal attackers than Everton. I did Bolasie to Walcott last week.

Has to be Wilson. Easy choice.
