Aldi has this coming up on Sunday for €30. Where alot of the bigger names can go for €100 or so.

Is this any good, has anyone ever got one before?

If it's the same one I have I'm very happy with it. Been using it for 3 years to wake me up

Have one last couple of years. Misses and I find it great, you can set the light to start coming on 5,10,15 mins before main alarm come on which may be birds chirping or sound of waves(I know groovy hey) anyway, the light starts to get brighter the nearer it gets to main alarm going off.

I find it gradually wakes you up instead of a sudden jolt. The led light gives off some brightness

    Hope this helps.

What's this now? An alarm clock that wakes you with light rather than noise?

Tries to. If you don't get up it blasts noise.

Some people find they wake up, erm, cleaner is probably the best term. I can fall asleep and sleep through full brightness due to flying too much and at crap hours so they are useless for me; as is anything but loud repetetive noise - others basically become background noise of annoying kids / Americans / whatever on planes.

Will this be an item that will sell out quickly. Do i have to be there at opening time or will i be able to pick one up in the evening? Really want to get one but not sure about getting up early.

A sunrise alarm clock would help you with that.

See this wouldn't work for me. I have to put the alarm across the room as it is cause I'm a slave to the snooze button. Even at that ive seen myself walk across room hit snooze and get back in..... more than once! A light would just require me to hide under the duvet.

that would be the same as a toddler coming in and jumping up and down on your head first thing in the morning :D

The natural light bulbs are usually expensive, do they do a set of bulbs also? Any word?

For anyone who can't get up in the morning, try one of those alarm clocks that shreds your money if you don't get out of bed.

Personally I'd prefer once that I can feck at a wall when it goes off !!

What happens if you had this on a locker say to the left of your bed but slept facing the right... probably would need the sound to ask you or would it be bright enough to light up all the room?

Yes the whole room lights up on ours, but better safe than sorry I put it beside Mrs Mad m as I don't want her to sleep in....:D

Worth flagging that it is battery only.

    It's not battery only.

Does the job, doesn't light the whole room but it's bright enough. I use it to read.

Sound quality on the "waves" and "birds chipping" etc isn't great.

Looks like a new design. Mine is different

It seems to be modelled on the Philips wake up light in terms of the look.

It is very good value for what you get, but if the previous version is anything to go by it has an LED bulb which some may find harsh. Lumie use a halogen bulb, I think Philips are LED. Both Philips and Lumie regularly come up in Amazon sales, e.g. Black Friday. I got my Lumie 250 for about e67 on sale.

Using the wake up light in conjunction with a radio alarm or some other sound is the most effective way to use it if you're a deep sleeper, I find.

These apps do similar job on your Android smartphone. Few features are free and have to pay around 4 euro for pro version but free app does the work for me.

Got one in Wexford around 11am. Couldn't find any at first and thought They were all gone since it was a bit late. But asked a staff member and she turned to her boxes lined up for loading shelves with and opened a box for me. She explained the delivery was late so they were only loading the out on shelf at that stage.
It looks nice, can confirm cable and plug in box, plus 3 backup batteries. Seems like a good product for the money. Now to test it...

It's a very good clock for the price. Now to test it tomorrow morning.

For anyone who purchased one today, are the LED lights strong? .... Strong enough to light up a room in the morning?

Very tempted to purchase it later this evening
