The toys out of the pram routine is getting a bit boring now. Used it for 200, now for Nevada.

Hes every right to the fine is a disrace.

****ing yes! As soon as the fine was handed over I said Cobor shouldn't fight in Vegas anymore, didn't think he'd actually suggest it himself. Wouldn't be surprised to see MSG offer him an exclusivity deal like the new arena in Vegas was trying to do.
    Saving money/time on them flights!

Not fighting in Nevada will lose Conor millions, if not tens of millions in the long run.

Unless NY or MSG come up with a monster offer.

NY taxes fighter income. Heavily. Nevada doesn't charge income tax.

He'll be back in Vegas again UNLESS they come up with some sort of offer in NY to offset the millions he'll lose in tax.

Obviously there's 8 other states in America that don't charge income tax but i can't see him fighting in Alaska or South Dakota lol.

Texas or Florida could be options but he is on record saying he wants mostly East Coast fights.

I'd throw my toys out of the pram if I was being fined 150k for a relatively small incident.

The commission were throwing around numbers as if it was nothing. Went up to 300k at one stage.

surely they made more than 150k with the extra publicity that the press conference brought about?

Almost as boring as you showing up to cry about McGregor all the time.

    Gift of sh1te talk.

Comments like that give credence to the comments people make about this being the "McGregor defenders" thread. He expressed a valid opinion and wasn't an as*hole about it..

To be honest I misread it at work as mcgregor having not being drug tested for the Aldo fight, don't ask me how.

Its 5% of 3 million dollars which is 150k dollars.

Ok so either you or this Colin chap simply need a calculator or ?, its not odd tho is it ?

Unless using the word ''Odd'' as a way out there math joke ? which would be fair we would call then even, and not wanna look at the negitive posts just the positives.

No doubt in my mind that Conor will be back in Nevada, almost certainly for his next fight after 205.

Due to income tax rates and taking into account key UFC markets it'll cost him far more money in the long run so he'd be cutting off his nose to spite his face by avoiding fighting there.

Being taxed 0% on a $3,000,000 purse (and that's just show money) or anywhere up to 39.6%? It's not exactly a hard decision.

I fully expect McGregor's next disclosed payday to be an ironic $5,150,000

It's the Conor McGregor thread. Not the Conor McGregor Cheerleader Thread.

    And it's the Mma forum.

Try branching out and contributing to some other topics or threads.

Actually don't if your posts on this thread are anything to go by.

I've been an Eddie fan since his fights with Chandler. If anybody hasn't watched them i'd highly recommend them. Michael Chandler is for me the best lightweight outside of the UFC fight now. He's a beast.

I'm looking forward to the one (McGregor fan I think) who, despite surely knowing otherwise, insists on spelling it "Alverze".

I don't see how it's remotely the same. what he has said has no impact on this upcoming fight.

NY Income Tax is 5-8%. Nevada not having a state income tax rate isn't the same as there being no tax on income. Conor is taxed on his fight purses.

    It's not 0% vrs 39%
The up to 39% is the Federal tax, that still applies when its in Nevada.
No income tax in Nevada means there's no additional income tax rate levied by the state. In New York , state tax is about 8% on that purse.
There's a city tax too in NYC.

And it's probably not even that simple. He's not employee paying a flat PRSI rate. He'll have an accountant filing his return and sidestepping as much of the liability as possible.

I was talking more in general. Doesn't get things all his own way, throws a strop.

Couldn't get time off the pressers, refuses to do them and gets pulled. Can't get back on the card, so "retires" and all that twitter nonsense.

Gets fined for indiscriminately firing full cans of energy drink across a crowded room, spits the dummy and says me never wants to fight there again.

    All very childish.

Did you see the hearing though? The NSAC are an absolute joke. I'd be pissed if I was him too.

He was fined 150k for nothing
Not that it matters but that's a huge amount of money for a bit of horseplay

    Nobody likes getting fined.
If I could hit my council up for the parking tickets I've got in the past I would.

Horseplay? He was firing full, unopened cans across a room filled with reporters and fans. How much money do you think it would have cost him if he'd split someone open or worse?

And sure if we take his talk at face value it's peanuts to him.
