Yeah I think I'm definitely going to pick one up. The Dot version is out at the end of this month and it's less than half the price. Missing the big speaker but it comes with a 3.5mm audio out and Bluetooth support so you can run it through a stereo.

Ya I considered the Dot as well, but luckily got the limited deal they had for Prime users for the Echo for £99 so paid the bit extra for that. But if you already had speakers or bluetooth speakers the Dot is probably the way to go.

I've heard from people - really great people, folks, reallly great - about the Vive. Can't afford it? Sad! I heard about a review of it in the failing New York Times - biased and crooked, like Hillary!

Speaking of annoying Millenials, I was reading up on videogame making tutorials and one was about 3D in Gamemaker. Author says most amateur game developers have thought about making their first game game in 3D before 2D because 3D games are what we grew up with in our childhoods.

    I feel old.

    Thumper looks pretty great too:

Basically if you haven't died from some sort of horrible seizure then VR hasn't done it's job right.

Looks like a hardcore Winamp visualisation (remember those?)
Funnily enough, Nullsoft also used a llama for their logo.
Gotta be some link between owning llamas and psychedelic visuals, whatever that could be! :pac:

I'm hoping they are timed exclusives. Whatever about VR being a huge investment to make, it's worse when you have 3 competing formats. It reminds me of the GPU accelerators in the 90's buy the wrong one and you've made a massive financial mistake.

Anyone know if they're going to release the VR version of Rez for Oculus/PC?
One of my fav games on the Dreamcast, and apparently its awesome on PSVR.

Picked up a digital copy of Gears of War 4 as I wanted to try it out on the PC.

Man oh man is the Windows Store awful.

Took a while to get the Play Anywhere feature to recognise my copy of the game. But trying to download the 80GB file is just not happening at all. Keeps stalling at about 12GB and I have to start over.

Played a little on the Xbox One though, and it's very pretty looking. And you get to shoot dumb clanky robots this time around.

I've always had a soft spot for the Gears of War series. The combat and controls are solid and it's unapologetically stupid while having quite a bit of heart as well, something you only see in Capcom or Platinum games. I heard the new team hasn't really translated over that silliness though.

Yeah. Enjoyed 1 and 2 but didn't like 3 at all.

4 seems fun so far. But it frustrating how quickly you run out of ammo and have to tiresomely wander around looking for bullets while underfire. It doesn't add tension, it just makes the game frustrating.

Always liked the GOW series as well. Visceral fun, I was a big player of the chaos that was the multiplayer deathmatch.

No Xbone for me though and my pc wouldn't have a hope of running it

Only ever played the first one when it came out, had a bit of fun with it but it's a little too dudebro for my refined tastes. :pac:

They've made it more diverse this time.

There's Black Man, Woman and Super Generic White Man.

In single player I'm forced to be Super Generic White Man.

Also the game damsels Marcus Fenix.

It all looks great though. Unreal 4 is pretty special, huge variety on the levels.
