Wonder when clowns went from been a source of comedy to fear?

Clowns were never a source of comedy and I am deeply suspicious of anyone who finds them funny.

Apparently there's a distinction between a clown and a man dressed as a clown.
    Yes of course

A real clown gets their face painted on an egg and left with the people who manage these things.

Using another clowns face is serious business.

If you are ever attacked by a shudder of clowns then remember
In the “hierarchy” of clowns the Whiteface is the traditionally the most intelligent of the clowns and will be in control and in charge when performing with other types of clowns.

    ProTip :

    Go for the jugular

Clowns scare me. I've never found them funny.

I think the first appearances were done by the studio to drump up a bit of hype for the remake of IT

Then a few people started doing it just to have a bit of craic and scare people

Now there's so many what happens when someone comes across the genuine psycho and ends up hanging from a tree via their entrails

One jumped out at me yesterday and in shock I punched him in the face!

Said he was calling the Gardai, gave him my details and told him to work away

    Haven't heard much since

I hate clowns, and as a close second I hate those street performers who paint themselves in metallic paint and stand really still...as if staying still is some sort of talent.

Most of these sightings are folk dressed up getting their photo taken by a friend and that's it.

IT is often cited as a reason for fear of clowns.
The only thing frightening about IT was the appalling direction and pacing. Fnarrr!

I don't mind clowns too much.

A clown at night time is a different game altogether.

Clowns have no business out at night.

It's scarier than any film of it.

I'd sh*t myself if someone did it to me. But if I saw it happen to someone else I'd pee myself laughing. Either way a soiling is inevitable :D

A custodial sentence in Britain for an axe-wielding clown who chased a couple at Hallowe'en.

Apparently he wasn't the only one of the clown 'pranksters' who went after people with weapons either.
