Hatched loads today, I walked the whole way through lunch. 2 bloody Rattatas (ugh) then a Dratini (my second one, enough for an evolve yeah!), a Charmander (enough for an evolve yeah!) and a Lickitung!!! :)

Level 23 now, still miles behind most of you with only 81 in the dex. As spawns are so crap here, I'm depending completely on eggs and buddies. Lots more 2km eggs appearing from stops lately. I'm only a few candies short for Growlithe (current buddy), jigglypuff, oddish and staryu.

Are eggs random or is there some way to not get pure ****e from them?

Yes, random. I get mostly dross but I do get the occasional gem.
Basically it is all about burning through as many eggs as you can. When you burn through enough you will eventually hit pay dirt.

Hatched a stupid Eevee today. First 10km egg I had got in absolutely ages, and I get a lousy Eevee. :( Just looked at the 10km egg list and I thought I had loads more to get from them, but currently "only" need Scyther, Magmar, Lapras, Omanyte and Snorlax. Also wouldn't say no to a Kabuto or Dratini, or maybe a better Onix. Just so sick of Eevees and Jynxes at this stage. Haven't seen a 2km egg in over a week either, it's all 5km that I have left.

Caught a wild Pinsir yesterday (my first) with a whopping 138 cp, but I don't even care, at least it's another one off the list. Also managed to evolve my buddy Growlithe and a Jigglypuff today. Up to 114 now, but nothing else close to evolving anytime soon.

Every time I refresh FastPokeMap there's always at least 3 new Charmander spawns on the golf course on Bull Island. I'd have another Charizard in a couple of days if I could get onto the course!

TWO Blastoise's on Bull Island right now. Place is insane.

Pogobag.me is back btw, for those of you who use it to check IV's. :)

POGOBAG is now telling me, my account maybe banned or the servers are busy.

    Except when I go there.

I'm up to 640 eggs hatched and I'm still waiting on a Grimer. Getting kind of silly now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,417 ✭✭✭Diemos

Wow, I've burned through 320 and thought I was doing well.

But I too haven't managed a Grimmer from an egg yet. Just the one wild catch.

I've hatched every possible 2km, missing Grimmer and Mr Mime from 5km, and Aerodactyl and Omanyte from 10km.
Of those only Aerodactyl is missing form my dex..

Pretty sure Mr Mime is in the 10km egg, saw one hatched on Ali-As YouTube a few weeks back.

I'm still waiting on Grimer and Lickitung from the 5kms, then Hitmonlee and Mr Mime from 10km (not that I want another Mr Mime). Grimer is the only one I don't have already.

Blastoise there as well now. There has been a definite increase on the rare spawns. Just caught a Gyarados in work a few minutes ago and caught 3 lapras out in Bull Island over the past week

Farfetched isn't in China. Only Japan, Taiwan and HK.

Would explain why my brother didn't see any in 3 weeks in the Philippines, he bought a load of incubators too to try hatch one over there.

You're right, Mr. Mime is in the 10k.

Even with that, I've caught 10 of them since the spawn rate increased about a month or so ago with my latest one being yesterday.

MrMime from a 10K... I would be a very disappointed bunny with that hatch.

@Mcgovrn: I'm due to trek out to the Philippines early next year, what is the poke situation like there? Has it been released yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,331 ✭✭✭AMGer

Finally hit 100 candies to evolve a Charmeleon into Charizard, and I got Wing Attack & Fire Blast! Happy Days :)

#137 in the pokedex - only Venusaur, Grimer, Muk, Kabutops and Dragonite left to get.

It has been released there, but generally outside the big cities he said there was almost nothing.
Shopping centers were full of electric types.

He went to a beach resort though and said it was amazing. Caught Blastoise, Gyrados and a bunch of other rares.

Nice! I'm 166k into walking my charmeleon (another 90k to go), sad bit is I don't think charazard will be good enough to even use when I get it.

It's kinda strange that all the starts (bar Bulbasaur maybe) are basically useless in the current game in their evolved form.

    10k popped a hitmonlee.....and people seriously complain about eevee's

I've hatched a Hitmonlee and I was chuffed. Never even seen a shadow of one before.

Other stuff some people can't find I don't even bother wasting balls on anymore :D

    Weird game...

Charizard and Blastoise are some of the strongest Pokemon in the game and near the top of their types for Fire and Water, respectively.

But their low CP restricts them massively. You rarely see them in gyms.

But their max CP is over 2500? For example, Charizard's max CP is 2602 whereas Vaporeon's max CP is 2816. I think they're not seen as much because it's more difficult to find the necessary lower-evolved forms around plus it takes a lot of candie to evolve too.

Blastoise is a crapper harder to get vaporean but stiill pretty good. Fire types are generally bad and charizard is like a bad arcanine, also hard to get. Which is a pity tbh!

For defence blastoise is tier 2 and charizard tier 3. For attack charizard is tier 4 and blastoise is tier 5. So really there is jsut so many things better that are easier to get.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,417 ✭✭✭Diemos

Max CP's are a moot point (unless you are cheating) for at least the next year for 99% of players. From what I can see there are very few players over level 35 at the minute without cheating.

I'd be surprised if there are any 2000 CP Charizards in the country. While every second gym has a 2000+ Vap.

The stardust and effort is takes to max out a starter is just too high. Much less effort to spend the time, candy and stardust on a Dragonite, Vaporeon or Gyarydos for the same rewards or more. This is why I think the starters are hamstrung.
Even my Raichu is weaker than my Jolteon.

Presume it would be better to power up a Gyarados with 1749 CP, 69% IV's and Hydro Pump than one with 1601 CP, 94% IV's and Twister? Does their weight have any impact because the first one mentioned is 2.34kg and the second one is 212.63kg?

Where are you getting your Tier info from? Check out here for info that counters that.

You're the one who mentioned low CP so I was merely showing you a comparion of CP among the Pokemon you thought were useless.

My whole point was to show how they weren't useless. Also, it's clear some of us are using different methods of defining "quality", so there's bound to be some disagreement :)
