McGinley saying Europe were spectacular and it came right down to the wire????

    Eh wtf

It's over with a load of matches still out there for Jaysus sake

Gobshïte. He is so part of the inner circle and warped of perspective that he is unqualified to be a commentator. He is the Alistair Campbell of the European Tour.

Tiger was certainly a unifying factor. Him not being on the team I mean.

Not unexpected but disappointing the way it happened none the less.

Thought the yanks left the door ajar a couple of times despite their brilliant start, but a combination of poor picks from Clarke and some awful play from some of the Europeans never gave the team a hope.

Brilliant putting from nrpearly the Americans, they were nearly machine like.

I know I've said it before and many disagree but I thought the crowd were awful. Stereotypes of themselves and maybe a reflection of the political situation over there at the moment, but this isn't really the place for that.

Anyway the unforgivable horrible memory will be Willet and Westwood completely folding and nearly going out of their way to lose that match.

But I'm going to try and remember that match with Phil and Sergio. An utterly brilliant and captivating round of golf to watch right to the last putt and the game halved with the last putt was fitting.

Congratulations to the USA. Fully deserved.

Seriously embarrassing watching Bubba Watson a 2 time masters winner in tears over the wonderful experience of standing around and watching the USA play for the last 3 days.

Sky coverage of this has been dull as f**k.

Also, Willett, 54 holes, he won 2. An embarrassment.

One of the luckiest major winners ever after Jordans meltdown. But still, he still won it regardless of how it happened. Americans had the better players this weekend, happy for Davis Love III, quite humble throughout. Some of the fans though, a$$holes isn't the word

There seems always a fitting ending.

Nothing wrong with the result. A few bits wrong with the last generation of European golf clinging on too long but this marks the end of that and we move forward.

Galleries not as obnoxious as I feared (probably because they won comfortably). A predictable outcome and deserved.

McGinley is so anodyne it hurts. Was at an event a while ago where he spoke and he put everyone to sleep.

That's what's nice moment with Davis and Bubba. Shows what it means to them.

She must be thankful. You'll be lucky if you don't have to give her the house, the dog and half the kids as well. 😊

Gob****é. He is so part of the inner circle and warped of perspective that he is unqualified to be a commentator. He is the Alistair Campbell of the European Tour.

He has really gotten the most out of his captaincy, you'd think Europe hadn't won it in decades the way he goes on.

This whole captaincy importance is completely overblown anyway, it primarily comes down to the golfers.
It's not like soccer where tactics are involved, it's basically motivation and pick the pairings, the rest is down to the players.
The 50 vice captains is a load of nonsense as well

I'm sure inside, he's thinking something completely different, but he's being a diplomat. It's a tricky one to manage given how close he is to the whole Ryder cup process

Any of us could've captained that US team to victory over that European team in those conditions.

I believe he's doing an exclusive interview with Joe Molloy.

Thinks it's more that as Europeans we are dissapointed. Fair play to Bubba showing what it really means.

Clarke'sp picking of Westwood was a huge mistake should have been Knox

Agreed. Golf is a non-contact individual sport.

It could almost be done without a captain. A computer could produce the pairings at random. Like HAL-9000
