I'd say Hennelly feels bad enough without some f**king keyboard warriors rubbing it in.

fair enough point. I don't blame Hennelly. I completely blame Rochford. Best goalkeeper in the country dropped . Absolutely devestated for Hennelly. And COC.

Very dirty game, so harsh on Mayo to loose another final and by a point as well.

The one man I don't want to listen to.

Mayo leave it behind again. Could have won both games - 2 own goals in the first and probably 1-4 off the goalie today. When it was there to be won in the last 10 minutes they didn't have the courage. Alan Dillon was terrible when he came on, - didn't want the ball and when he did get it he ran into trouble with it.

You can't fault Mayo for effort and the whole country wants them to win an all Ireland but they keep blowing up under pressure

Is the poster complaining about the added time watching his first match of the championship?

It's been this way in every single game that I know of since the last round of the qualifiers.

ask him where he found that imaginary card

Despite his antics on the pitch, Connolly actually seems a decent bloke.

Explain the 6, now wait, the 7:30 minutes added time please. And when you're done, please explain the 7, oh not wait the 9 minutes added time last week. Cheers.

Since July they've added 20/25 seconds for each substitution used by either team in each half.
Since both teams used 6/7 subs with the black cards it adds up pretty easily to 5 minutes. Then add on the additional time for the consistent foulling and delaying by Dublin (and Mayo) earlier on in the second half plus the time wasted on the various scuffles.

7 was the minimum that should have been added.

But of course you'd know that if you bothered to watch any matches all year.

Mayo keeper has cost them the game today.

Some VERY salty people in this thread.

    Mon the dubs!

Feel bad for Cillian O Connor though easily the best player across the two games. Can't believe he missed that point at the end.

Do you actually watch any GAA because you did you'd know that 6 minutes has been about the average added time in every game this championship year, the GAA are trying to crack down on time wasting.

The ref is entitled to add on a little time to reflect stoppages in added time and there was a fair gap between the free being awarded and O'Connor taking it so that explains a fair bit of the additional time.

50% of people on this page seem think the ref rode mayo and it seems 50% think he rode Dublin which pretty much tells you he was fairly OK for both teams, because clearly peoples biasedness is getting the better of them

Just switched back over... Did he ask him about waving the fake black card, trying to get Keegan sent off?

Congrats dubs. nothing much else to say. Mayo need one forward like brogan, thats the difference.

Or a manager who doesn't make really strange decisions before the game

He's thanking the referee, on behalf of the Dublin team. :P

Corrupt referee and a team of professional cheats, hard luck Mayo beat by a pro Dublin referee.

Mayo gave away 8 fouls and a horrid tactical decision cost them 1-4.

But blame everyone but yourself and it will be another 65 years a waiting.

Watch this match versus a match from 20 years ago. Come back to me after that.

Yes.Way better quality, it;s just a lot of football fans are overly nostalgic and actually don't know what good quality is.

Management won and lost that game.

The referee has been responsible for Dublin success since the semi-final.

Nope, fairly sycophantic from RTE. Connolly is the last player that should be lauded for many reasons but he's Teflon apparently

Maurice Fitz would have put it over the middle of the crossbar and not even thought about it.

It was probably the toughest free both teams got today position wise

Nearly all the frees were in the front of the goals,

Still thought he would have nailed it but not to be,

Not buying a paper tomorrow or for the week :D

Dublin shows how useless they are when they resort to these tactics, there will be no three in a row and that's for sure.

We have won 4 of the last 6. That will do!

99% of people are decent blokes. All that matters are his on field antics to us. He can give away as many pairs of boots as he wants.

I feel sorry for O'Connor. Kicked every one over except the one that really mattered.

Enda is as sick as a parrot which makes this even sweeter.

That's awful football from Dublin though. Its all the worst things of soccer pulled into GAA; timewasting, aimless possession football, niggling, off-the-ball stuff, cynical fouls, and provoking. I know lots of teams are doing it but no one to the same extent. The worst thing is that they could probably play a lot better without all the sh!te and if they were more direct.

Politics should always be kept out of the GAA so keep your bias to yourself.

I agree with you but you'd have to question the coach's decision to play him.

Well done to the Dubs but my heart breaks for Mayo.

The Mayo team from the first match dispelled the Ghost and the curse, unfortunately, the Ghost, in the body of Hennelly, sneaked on to the starting line up.
