    10km Magmar......the baby jesus wept.

I've decided a Jinx is the worst 10k egg, followed by a Magmar. An electabuzz with a bad moveset is next. But a good moveset and they're great against all the water mons in gyms

Alot of Onix in Stephens Green today if anyone is looking for one, 2 there at the moment

Pokemon nests all swapped around yesterday so anywhere <something> used to regularly spawn, <something else> should now.

Report back on Merrion Square folks, Magmars should be gone in place of <blank>? St Anne's Park?

FYI: Marlay Park is a Squirtle nest now apparently.

Got my 3rd Scyther from a 10k egg today :(, then noticed it was my first 100% IV mon :)

Ponyta nest now in Iveagh Gardens

Besides vermin doesn't seem to be much in Merrion Sq. As a Snorlax popped up there yesterday around 4pm, going to keep an eye on that around same time today

Caught a Grimer, Lapras and Dratini in Trinity during lunch

Yeah, I've noticed that the egg-hatched 'mons generally had pretty good IVs whilst the nest-caught ones were all rubbish. The poor nest IVs has been addressed supposedly - not sure about any change to eggs though.

I'm quite suprised that the beta tracker they released in San Fran hasn't been either rolled out more or retired. It's a bit strange to have it in beta for a couple of months and not at least try to roll it out to more areas.

I was in SF for 3 days for work last month and got a chance to try out the beta tracker. While it was very handy for me petsonally I think calling it a 'tracker' is a stretch of the imagination.
You ignore the sightings option in favour of going to known locations. It entirely removes the tracking element from the game and just becomes a "walking quickly before it despawns" game.
Yes, it is great if you want a particular pokemon and see it at a nearby pokestop or even just need to add candies to an existing type. But long term it removes the thrill of the catch that the 3 step tracker had.
As mentioned above I think re-instating the 3 steps might be an idea at this point. Servers are no longer dropping due to the strain, which was the apparent reason for disabling it.

Caught 3 at different locations on the Causeway road, 1 at the roundabout and 2 on the beach when you take a left at said roundabout.

Can confirm that Merrion Square is now Meowth where Magicarp used to be near the middle of the park. Also around 60 Merrion Square there is a nest that was Clefairy and is now Exeggcute but i have only seen it spawn around 3.20PM each day. It also occasionally had Vulpix or something else unusual

Just snuck off for a look. Didn't get any meowths, but got 4 ghastlies, which I also need

FINALLY got a Lapras out on Bull Island just now. Only 119CP and crap move set but don't care! Got him just now about halfway up the beach heading North for anyone near.

Same spot on the m11 near Bray the last week iv seen 2 Snorlax shadows a lapras shadow and today dragonite shadow. Then I come home and a scyther spawns outside my apartment. First time ever seeing it in the wild. Only ever had 1 from an egg. Games gone mad

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 148 ✭✭Dublinlad1989

All nests seem to have changed but Niantic have made the change random so a spawn point or nest for growlithe could now be any of a few different types of Pokemon, also there seems to be more spawn points added into the game - I've never been able to spawn any Pokemon while at home but since yesterday there are two different points on my road that generate a Pokemon every 30 mins so far just pidgeys and lots of rats but a level 697 Mr Mime just showed up! Anyone else seeing new spawn points or nest changes? My local growlithe nest has been giving tentacools at the same time instead

Finally, finally caught a Lickitung! He's not the greatest, but I don't even care.

Wish I could get a 10km egg and I wouldn't mind getting all the Magmars, Pincers, etc, that everyone else is sick of getting :p

Second Lickitung in a few days in Waterford so :) I caught a Magmar by the Spar shop on Kilcohan on Saturday, and saw one nearby on the Cork Rd. (by MCDonalds) last week.

Quick question about magikarp, is it ever worth powering up before evolving as it has such a high multiplier? I know you'd be taking a chance with the moveset not coming out great

No. If you get a good movest then power up the Gyarados.
It cost the same either way.

Each pokemon has a max CP anyway, so ultimately you will end up at the same CP whether you power up before or after evolving. Doing it after saves you wasting stardust on a bad move set.

Went to Dollymount and saw a Kabutops and a Pikachu - both escaped and ran away after a good throw. Damn!

I caught a Marowak on the way back down the causeway but I had just evolved one of them at the weekend anyway.

I also caught enough Magikarp to evolve my first Gyarados - not so exciting as I've been seeing them in every gym for ages now. I'm much more excited about my Vileplume.
