Hi, I have just done a clean install of Windows 10 on my laptop. I replaced a HDD with the Samsung 850 EVO SSD. The speed is amazing but I am having one problem. Details of my upgrade and problem are here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=101165388
Can someone help with this? Thanks in advance!

I have no clue about laptops but on desktops you can go into bios on boot up and set each mode IDE/AHCI etc.. there.

    Worth a try anyway.

Usually you have to set to AHCI before installing the os. Also it could be a case your cd/DVD drive is on the sam controller so might have to be IDE.

Have a look at this http://www.ithinkdiff.com/how-to-enable-ahci-in-windows-8-after-installation/

I'll try that tomorrow and see what happens. I've got no CD drive though!
