You don't need Life Assurance for a mortgage, you can sign a waiver that says you understand that you do not have LA once you can prove you can't get cover or only at a prohibitive premium

    http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/housing/owning_a_home/buying_a_home/mortgage_protection.html

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission publishes detailed information on mortgage protection insurance.

    Exceptions to legal requirement

You do not have to take out mortgage protection insurance if:
•You are aged over 50 or
•The mortgage is not on your principal private residence (your home) or
•You cannot get the insurance, or can only get it at a much higher premium than normal or
•You already have enough life insurance to pay off the home loan if you die

Wonder are there additional services they offer during the 8 hours if you put the extra few bob down so to speak?

He's done loads in his life, but he's got no pension? There's long term planning at its finest!

"Long may you trive, Simon", gushes Joe.

Joe, may I introduce you to the letter combination TH?

To be fair, he probably doesn't reckon on being around for the full span. Of course, advances in medicine might make him feel a bit put out when he lives way past his expected lot.

Looks like PBH is doing Crimecall again tonight, thought he was giving it up? It would be gold if Joe had to cover Crimecall when PBH was off..."A gold coloured car was interfered with so to speak outside the gates of the parish graveyard...."

Easy show for Duffy today. Probably told to let the callers talk, after last week.

I see Yew Ormond produced that one.

Point is Crowley isn't turning up for work. And if they want to argue that he can do it from home, then let them all do it from home. No more expenses, and pay full rate tax.

Well, I couldn't face into the programme based on the advance notice (of what probably wouldn't be coming up) - and looks like I was right.

I nearly fell asleep just reading the thread.

Either Joe has been told to tone it down (a LOT), or the researchers kept him quiet by putting the most boring callers they could find on air.

I feel another extended Lahvline holiday coming up.

Reminds me of a Somerset Maugham story I read years ago. Never thought I'd be saying that on this thread.

Looks like I missed a classic do so to speak....not.

As for the collective term for JDs, how about:

    A funeral of Duffys?
