Barnageeragh Cove, Skerries

Hope you got moved in.
Just wondering if you've any advice for someone considering this estate? House position, what kind of interior options you had, snags you encountered?
I've heard there are management fees, are they expensive?

Was out at them last night. The wooden frames are up on the first two. Should be getting a walk around in the next 2 weeks.

I've been living in Barnageeragh Cove for a year now. We live in a 3 bed semi on Linnett.

I've been off boards for a while but any questions, fire away.

I commute on the train to Pearse St. station every morning. 5 minutes drive (about 8 minutes by bike or 20 minutes walk) to the train station. 35-40 minutes on the train. It's fine for me, but everyone is different - this may be too long for some people.

General comments:

* Houses are warm - very cheap to run
* Some maintenance has been required post move-in but builders have done so at no cost
* Lovely people living in the development, made some good friends and neighbours already
* Houses finished well
* Kids playground is great
* One bad thing is the public street lightning has not be finalised yet giving dodgy people opportunities to skulk around in the dark

Thanks for the feedback. Commute seems very reasonable to have such a great quality of life. Shorter commute than we have now so that is a big plus. Disappointing about the street lights, hopefully that will be rectified soon enough.

Just this week some of the streetlights came on! Yay!

Hit and miss. It's been rather busy the last month with bus strikes and students going back to college. Before that I would get a seat 3-4 days out of 5. Now I'm getting maybe 1-2 days only.

Playground isn't noisy. It's set back from most of the houses.

Only time I've really heard neighbours is when they were drilling the wall. I have on occasion heard some muffled 'thumping' from running up the stairs, but that's it. No talking, flushing or anything else. We've never been disturbed by sounds.

I am very jealous. We are not even at snag stage yet. Worried we wont have keys before Christmas. Selling our own house and currently experiencing the extra stress of being in a chain. Ordered our carpets at the weekend.

What colour is the house painted throughout? Did you have much to snag?

We have a family member who is a painter so he will be doing the extra painting for us. Hoping he can get access before we get the keys.

We have agreed with the tiler that he will be doing the extra tiling for us throughout. We haven't snagged yet and the tiling is only starting next week ðŸ™

Painter rang today, starting on Monday, fantastic news. Foreman doesnt fancy our chances of being in for Christmas though, disappointing but sure what can you do.

All signed and sealed with our current house and the buyers want in by Christmas, oh the joys of being in a chain!!

you are given a budget of 2 1/2 k to get tiles for the house - if you choose wisely you can easily fit in the bathrooms and kitchen and lounge. We added extra to the budget and also bought tiles for the hall and wooden floor for the living room. We are paying the tiler extra to just put these down for us

We are getting the carpets from the recommended carpet provided, they are a bit on the pricier end to be honest, even with the discount but the added convenience of not having to be there to let them in is a big plus for us as we have little annual leave in work. You can shop around and get carpets for a budget from chain stores if that makes sense.

We are in the middle of it all now so it is all very fresh in my head. Feel free to PM me and I can give you more details and names of suppliers and subcontractors.
