Off to Mahon Point in the morning - where else in Cork City is worth stopping off?

Fitzgerald Park for Growlithe. Maylor St seems to be decent enough as well. Peace Park there's often a lure or two around there and sometimes decent spawns.

Has anyone found somewhere in Dublin that spawns Charmanders yet? I have my starter charmander ad my buddy at the moment but I've never seen another one, neither wild nor from an egg. It'll take a lot of walking to get a Charizard just from the buddy system!
I got one at the roundabout on Bull Island. 30 seconds after getting one in an egg. My only 2, haven't seen one since

    New places are great.
In Spain, gone from 0 Arcinine's to 3 in 3 days.
Caught wild Primeape, hitmonlee, kadabra and a 1100 Ponyta. Even spotted a chansey on the nearby list.
Buddy system has enables me to get a Raichu.
Up to 122 on the Pokedex. Delighted.

I found a great thread on Reddit that covers a method for saving battery life while playing Pokémon GO on Android devices. You're probably thinking "oh great, yet another one of these threads" (as I did when I first saw it) but this one seems to be right on the money!

Basically, there's a free app (Proximity Service) that uses the proximity sensor on your phone to turn the screen off when the phone's in your pocket. As the screen's just off, like when you're on a call, Pokémon GO continues to run so you're still notified of new Pokémon as you walk around. Also, by using the Android screen pinning feature too, there'll be no more accidental exiting of Pokemon GO.

So I spent a half hour in Mahon Point this morning, caught 7 Voltorb (now have more then enough candy to evolve to Electrode), 5 Magnemite, and a Magneton.

It doesn't work though, the game is suspended while the screen is off.

Android Screen Pinning + Pokemon Go Battery Saver setting is as good as it gets unfortunately. Just remember to turn the phone upside-down in your pocket to turn off the screen.

Not when it's off due to the proximity sensor. I tested it myself and it works. Don't believe me though, there's a ton of Reddit users saying the same thing.

Check out Proximity Service and see how you get on; you might change your mind. ;)

I think at this stage I'd settle for fixing the sound bug, i.e. when a notification (email, SMS, etc) pops up on Android, the sound stops working until you restart the app. Can't believe that bug is still there two months on...

Anyone else interested in the Pokémon Go compatability with the Apple Watch 2? I have one ordered, looks pretty good.

Will it work with the original apple watch too or just version 2? It looks decent alright, the amount I walk about at work would definitely help with increasing my hatching numbers.

I think it's just the series 2, it has gps, which I don't think the original has

Yeah, spawns were expected to change again over the last 2 days. I saw and caught my 1st Pinsir today in town so it definitely seems as if they did change the spawns. Here's hoping there are some more rares around :D

I tried it for a couple of days last week but it didn't register a metre walked or a Pokemon encountered. When I took it out of my pocket there was always the No GpS message and the avatar would jump to the current location.

Sorry to hear it doesn't work on your phone; that's a shame. :(

He was on bull island and he just appeared when I was about to switch off. Seems to be a bit of a Lapras spot.

Roundabout or over the wooden bridge? Taken a few trips up but never got out the car.

What time did you see him there? Been a few times myself looking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,953 ✭✭✭JamboMac

Causeway road about 100/150 yards before the roundabout. I caught him at 8.38 it says, so he probably appeared 8.35 I've had a few escape on me in bull island before and they where in different places.
