Stupid question: what's to stop me from asking a friend in the US from logging in with my account over there and catching a few for me?

Has anyone found somewhere in Dublin that spawns Charmanders yet? I have my starter charmander ad my buddy at the moment but I've never seen another one, neither wild nor from an egg. It'll take a lot of walking to get a Charizard just from the buddy system!

Friend of mine did this but logged in like 2 minutes after his friend caught a Taurus and got banned.

As above, just make sure that if/when you give logins to your friend that they don't log in for like a day since your last login and vice versa when they're done.

Re Dratini buddy; yup, 5km walking for 1 candy for the 10km hatch pokemons. I thought the starters were the same, starters are 3km.
Might just focus on the easier 1km/2km targets in the short term.

Pikachu is the only starter in the 1km per candy list, the other starters though are in the 3km list.

I just passed 3 gyms, with the same person in each gym, level 26 and had 3 different dragonites in the 3 gyms, all 2300+ cp. Am I just really bad at this game that I'm nowhere near anything like that at level 23, or is there something going on there?

Three 2000+ CP Dragnites seems pretty suspicious. However perhaps they found a Dratini nest and farmed it mercilessly before it moved and were lucky to hatch a couple of high CP Dratini from eggs?

Im about to hit level 24, I think Im lagging behind more commited players, my highest mon is an Eggecutor who evolved at just under 1700, I powered him up to 1750. #2 is a 1705 Vaporeon, #3 is back at 1510.
So in my opinion 3 Dragonite at that levels is a little odd, 3 different 2000+ is more believable.

I know you can see the player name in a gym, didnt realise that you can check their level too.

Thats quite a nice switch.....all relative of course, Dratini hard to find reliably in Ireland.

Caught a Chamander along Clontarf sea front and caught a Charmeleon on Bull Island, only 2 times I visited the area but will be going across more often

I've got two magic carp a XL one with 169 CP and at least one perfect IV in a base stat but an overall IV range of 51% - 64% , I also have one the has 177Cp is XS , has one base stat between 13-14 but an overall IV range of 66.7 - 80%

Which one should I evolve do size and IV have a big impact or should I just go for the highest CP one

When in town I usually head towards the end of the south mall, where the pub "electric" is on the corner, can be a very good spot for lures. Bishop Lucy park is nearby , and again more lures and more ground/grass types there.

I don't think size matters, and I'd wait to evolve one with 80%+ stats. Depends on your level, but I'm 26 and catching carp frequently in the 170s and 180s.

If you hatch one it should have decent IVs too.

I did manage to evolve one which had 100% IVs and I evolved it at 122CP despite having carp at the time that were in the 150s and 160s.

Just evolve a good one, and then power it up. It goes up by about 40CP per power up when evolved.

Check thesilphroad.com and while your there add your own sightings and nests. The more people who do the better,

I personally only have 1 Dragonite, but I have a bunch of 2000+ other mons, I can imagine if someone lives near a Dratini nest that they could have a couple by now. All the same having a lot of Dragonites at that level would take a huge investment of time.

Don't power it up before evolving? Waste of dust and candy which might result in crap moveset. Evolve and then power up

Caught my third snorelax today and he was only around the corner from the house would love if it was a regular spawn point. Not great moves but 1760 cp. 1 raspberry 1 ultra ball and he simply amazes team valor leader.

Yep, it's right there behind the player name! Thanks, it's possible I suppose. Although I'm in Waterford and have yet to find a dratini here. Have one in the pokedex that I got on a day trip to the zoo, but have never come across another one. Would love to know where this guy is finding them! My highest is a 1650 poliwrath.
