As much as it hurts to say it, I don't think any team could have lived with Tipp last Sunday, especially a KK team with its weakest full back line in recent memory. Also, don't think the Waterford games was the reason for the flat KK performance. KK have slipped back and Waterford are about to pass them out going in the opposite direction.

Waterford have made incremental progress since 2014 and remain a top 4 team but as suggested earlier, they need to make better use of their possession and be more streetwise in order to go all the way ; some new blood in the squad will be required too.

Looking at the roll of honour of senior titles. Portlaw were awarded the 1970 title. Anyone know the reason behind this?

To get the most out of them, I believe that he urgently needs to engage (and listen to) an assistant who has both coached at the highest level and who has serious experience of playing at that level.

Coached and played at the highest level - Bring back Davy ? I don't think Clare have sacked him yet ....anyway I don't think we can afford anyone who fits the profile ......

DJ Carey an option ???. Suggesting from his articles he is a big fan of our style of play and is doing well coaching the Carlow IT hurlers.

not many options around in fairness who would do an assitant/mentor role.

Getting someone like Liam Sheedy, Nicky English, Jimmy Barry Murphy, John Allen etc (all proven winners playing and coaching) on board would be fantastic but we dont have the funds.

But the whole big name assistant thing in GAA can sometimes not have much affect and is hyped up. Donal Og Cusack in Clare has not sparked yet, the joint team of TJ Ryan and Donal Og Grady in Limerick fell apart halfway through 2014 etc.

Watching the minor final yesterday was unbelievably irritating. To beat that Tipp team and then lose to Limerick. Christ. That should be another minor all ireland

This was an exact same for Tipp in the minor of 2013 I think when Tipp beat Waterford in the first round and lost to Limerick the next day to be knocked out. Waterford lost the Munster final after a replay but won the final after. Swings & roundabouts as they say.

Cant see anything but a Waterford win in the 21's. Between 7-9 points i'd say if not higher.

You think? I would have thought that to be a very poor showing on our part for what is only our fifth final at Senior/Minor/Under-21 level in the last 40 years.

Going to be a good few days and nights

Congrats to the team and management. 2 all Ireland's in 3 years

Team of 1992 ye were great take the back seat the touch has been passed

What an exhibition of the natural abilities our fabulous bunch of players possess. No covering with sweepers or Hoovers or parking the bus or whatever else we want to stifle these fellas with only brilliant guidance from the men in charge and proof is there for all to see today.
Proud to be associated with this brand of hurling, the goals were breathtaking, all scored and made by off the cuff hurling from some of the best forwards we have ever produced. All faith is not lost yet, congratulations to Sean,Kieran Eoin and Paul on a fabulous job well done and who knows maybe the big job is your natural progression. ALL IRELAND CHAMPIONS ðŸ‘

entirely disrespectful one of the 92's is our senior coach, another was a selector today, the things they did as well as the minors that year led to the 98 revival which these u21's were inspired by, they are not a back seat, they are the whole reason this happened and should be respected as such

I said earlier in the year I couldn't see your seniors do much. It wasn't popular.

Now for your good news: this U21 team look like champions-in-waiting to me.

Hope some of you took my advice. Got them @ 5/2 myself. A steal.

What a great day and what a wonderful group of players, some of the skills from us today were glorious, the pass for the 3rd and 4th goals, The finish for the 5th. We really have an amazing bunch of players on our hands and today showed we don't need sweepers to beat teams our natural ability is good enough, The Deise are well and truly at the top table of hurling there's definitely and AI at senior in this team maybe not next year but very soon.

Great performance, amazing scenes in Thurles. Is this team the greatest ever under 21 hurling team seen in this country? Think the average winning margin in the 4 games was 18 points.

Fan-bloody-tastic. So happy. Well done to all concerned, and thank you.

Certainly up there, the Clare team from a few years ago was pretty special as well.
