    Fine car in fairness

Be that as it may, his pricing is insane. You would pick up a similar spec/mileage version in the UK for between £5-7k (€5.8-8.2k), VRT is a shade over €2000. So, less than half he's asking and you're on the road if you're really after one.

    If you're feeling really daft, you'd even get a 5.0 V10 for £6695

    2005 VW Phaeton - only €19,700

Amusing how the latter part of the ad segues into a description of outstanding work ... to be done by the prospective buyer!!! :D
Rear suspension 100%, front bushings need replacement withing couple of months time, I don't recommend changing wishbones in authorized service as they ask 2.5k for one front side :) investing in bit more expensive polyurethane bushings and having it done by replacement is what has been suggested. Same time I would change rubber dust cover at front coil-overs and access is only when wishbones removed,

But not to worry, it's ...
    not a big investment.
Just as well, eh? ... seeing as funds may be a little tight after your wallet has been lightened by €19,700

Nct until 2018 according to the ad.

    Still overpriced though.

Ford sunroof... As opposed to what? A normal sunroof?.
Steering wheel that matches the dash now there is a reason to burn 8.5k on a 08 petrol mondeo.

    An aftermarket sunroof.

90% a bentley :D:D maybe the 6.0 petrol engine is...some people really are dreamers! :D
€20k for an 11 year old car - maybe €7k if even being realistic.

Cool toy , not something common you'd see on the daily motorway run :D

love the "€ 148,000 , not € 14,800. VAT and VRT are not included." part too:pac:

Not sure if I had 148k and needed a bulletproof car - I'd be (A) browsing ads on donedeal for one. (B) Using some lad named Ross to broker the deal.
    :D

    What's wrong with that?

Priced high but not a dreamer by a long shot. Tourneos do make a massive premium on standard Connects.

Actually I'v just seen the mileage! :o

    Says it's a 3 door saloon?

Could be a compact, a coupe, a saloon, who knows,

I always think of the e36 as BMWs mk3 Golf.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 687 ✭✭✭DakarVert

Definately a short arse, err I mean Compact.
Dash, Doorcards are specific to Compact. :)

Personally think it's about €2k overpriced.... It's a Basic Compact, Who really wants one. Although those engines are bullet proof.

I one read that for a car to be considered a 'classic' it needs to fill a few requirements
    1. That it is 'beautiful' to look at... in the eye of the beholder obviously, but you get my drift.
    2. That it (obviously the model type in question) has some kind of 'sporting' pedigree.
    3. That it should possess at least one 'engineering' milestone. This could range from anything, like being the first model to have wipers to the first to sport radial tyres etc.

Can anyone tell me at least one enduring legacy that the Toyota Tercel has provided ?

It's got front wheel drive, but the engine isn't transverse.

fwd man that's why its in the dreamer thread

Edit Colm beat me too it.
Engine isn't transverse as many of these were sold with proper 4wd for the us market and mountainous Japanese area's badged as corsa's, windys and corolla II's.
The tercel wagons with 4wd and low range are very cool little cars (red car from breaking bad)
All in in all some models of tercels are sorta cool but none are really valuable a rough blue one in donegal sold for a few hundred about a year ago.

Didn't see anyone claim innovation as the reason :pac:
read my post above as to why it's not transverse
