What brand hurt when it failed you?

    For me it's Ecco Shoes

I've worn them since I was a kid and wore each pair into the ground - they'd last for ages, keep their shape and be vaguely black.

As an adult they've been my go-to work shoes, as I walk around far too much to have any of that designer nonsense.
Also, in a world where Aladdin-pointy shoes seem to be inexplicably in fashion in every shop, they have a nice normal round shape.

I bought the latest pair only three months ago, haven't worn them much...and they've turned grey and streaky - I'm using the care cream thing I got with them (they warned off any polish) but they look like they're three years old already.

I'm completely disproportionately gutted that my Ecco shoes are such low quality - I used to love clomping around in them thinking I had a sturdy, robust, comfy shoe on.

What brands are you unreasonably attached to?

I'm a diabetic who has a reaction to foods containing a high proportion of sucralose (Splenda). In the US, basically every "diet" drink contains it, and most "sugar free" foods. When I moved here a couple years ago, I was so happy to see that sucralose is used in far fewer "no sugar added" foods and drinks, but there are still plenty of things that contain it that I would otherwise love to buy, and it's very disappointing to see something that looks perfect but that I have to put back on the shelf. What really hurts (literally) is when a brand that used to not contain it and that I used to trust switches to a formula containing it, and I don't notice in time.

Dolmio stir-in pasta sauce. When they took Anna, Giovanni and Luigi off the packet, it went to the dogs. Very watery now.

Starbucks is killing me. I love the experience - but the coffee and poor customer service is horrendous.

Nokia for me. Always liked their designs, their focus on actual innovation, as opposed to the guff peddled by Apple. I'm hoping that they can make a return in the future.

ditto on Ford. Had numerous Mondeos from the 1.6 to the 2.5L V6. Had a few different cars and then got a 2007 Mondeo. Got rid of it within twelve months as I really really disliked it. I actually feel a bit sad about that old Ford relationship. We were great together for so long and then... well in this case it WAS you, not me.

If you hate the product and service (totally agree btw) what can you possibly love about the experience?

AIB used to be a decent bank.
Ulster bank used to be pretty alright.
All I can say now is that if there was any half decent bank available i would move.
Bewleys used to have tea in their cafes that i could drink.
ECCO City was a good shoe when it was available. No adequate replacement.
MBT shoes were OK for a time and then started to fall apart within weeks.

ALL the irish banks , they all had be rescued by the government ,
we will be paying the bill for 20 plus years .
Irish charitys ,alot of them seem to spend most of the money raised on executive pay , pensions
Do you really need to pay some bloke 100k plus to work for a charity.
Any big tech company that makes billions and pays 1 per cent tax ,through
    various tax dodges .
Any company like nintendo that takes down videos on youtube or abuse,s the dmca process as a form of censorship.
TO take ad revenue from all those evil people who just want to
    review a game .
Does anyone in japan know about fair use .

Most brands of shoes fail me the the medium/long term. All the soles (including Ecco) wear down at the outside of each heel after a couple of months.

Bought some Grolsch recently and it was like drinking a totally different beer than what it used to taste like.
