So if I get in to a gym and get beaten and removed from the gym within seconds, that cash will still be there?!

No, for example if you're already in 2 gyms, you can cash out and collect your 20 coins. But instead you decide to take over more gyms before cashing out.

You get to a 3rd gym but it's got a lot pokemon defending it. You spend a good amount of time fighting the gym, finally beat it and put your pokemon in there. You go to the shop wanting to collect your 30 coins, but then you find out that the previous 2 gyms you owned have been taken over by another team. Now you're back to just 1 gym and can only collect 10 coins then.

That's the risk you take. Either cash out immediately, or go taking over more gyms before cashing out and risk losing the previous gyms you already owned.

If you're not in too busy of an area though, you should be able to take several gyms before losing any of them and then cash out. If you're in a very busy area, then I recommend just immediately cashing out.

Speaking of Eevees, the renaming trick is completely broken for me now. It worked once in a while before, now it's not working at all.

It's been said before. The renaming trick only works once for each of the three evolves.

So if it evolves what you renamed to now, it's just that you got lucky on a 2/1 shot.

If you read back through this thread, you will see there's a couple of people insisting that it should still work all the time, not just once.

Never saw a Jynx, a shadow of one or sight of one on a scanner. What type of terrain do they live in?

Are they both cold climate types maybe? Maybe I'll get one in winter. Or Paris...

Named my 515cp eevee pyro and got 1268cp flareon every time I've done it I got the right Pokemon 3 from 3, so as far as I think it works. Maybe it didn't work if you didn't use a capital letter at the start.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 36,046 Mod ✭✭✭✭pickarooney

It's just luck or percentages. There would be a worldwide consensus on this if it were infallible.

A bit like hatching zubats from 10k eggs.

    Nope, I used capital

Renamed 1 Eevee to Rainer and made sure no other Eevees have been renamed to Pyro/Rainer/Sparky in my bag.

Renamed another Eevee to Rainer, again made sure no other Eevees in my bag are called Pyro/Sparky/Rainer.

I had more than one Rainer when I evolved the first one, so don't think that's a factor at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,345 ✭✭✭jamescd

What do you mean 3 from 3? Do you mean you did only of each i.e. you've only done 1 Rainer, 1 Sparky and 1 Pyro?

The 1st one of each always works. There is no argument about that. It's doing more after that it goes pear shape for some people like me.

Sorry misread so will have to see if I get a vaporeon on my next evolve then.

It rotates, after you do one of each type you can do it again.

Agreed. The 5km eggs though are very much hit and miss, too. I got a nice hit today when a Growlithe plus 20 candies popped out. Have thrown another 5km in. There's high chance it'll be a bloody bellsprout!!!

I've seen this debunked also too. The main reason I want all the Eevee's is because after the first of each it seems like their is a random element to it and no definitive pattern.

Is there a list of what are obtainable from 2km eggs, 5km eggs etc....? Or is it complete pot luck?

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 36,046 Mod ✭✭✭✭pickarooney

There's a list of the minimum size egg you need to hatch for each Pokemon but no guarantee an egg of a particular size will get you a Pokemon from that group.

Lots, in work so this is the first one that wasn't blocked, but just google it and you'll get lots of results.

does the amount of candies you get from hatching a pokemon egg change aswell ?

Yes, 10k eggs usually give you 30+ candy. Others vary, low as 6 I believe, high as 35

Hatched me a five km Oddish today damn I hate walking.

2Km Bulbasaur that walking ain't so bad after all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,953 ✭✭✭JamboMac

Walked 2.9/3k needed 3.1 to hatch an egg not 1 inch added, Pokemon go used data but did not show anything in sightings. No bloody pokestops. Don't know whether it's 3 network issue or niantic all I know is it was a waist.

No Pokemon can hatch from more then one type of egg, jes, I'm sick of saying it. Anyone who says they got a Bulbasaur from a 5km egg or a Venonat from a 10k. etc. Is either grossly stupid or confused their eggs. There are sites with thousands of datapoints from various eggs that prove it.
