Niantic are trialing a new version of the tracking system in San Francisco at the moment. Its a combination system.
You retain the "Sightings" as we have but you also have a "Nearby" list. This gives you which Pokemon are close to nearby pokestops. like the old footsteps method you can then select that pokemon and the interface will then show you where that pokestop is.
I expect this system to make it way way easier for city centre players to find pokemon. However I can see this being a real pain for rural players, especially if the nearest pokestop is more than 10-15 walk away.

How good is garydos because I have a 932 cp vaporeon who pretty easily took out a 1300 cp garydos.

Agreeing with the poster that said they got the "wrong" thing from the wrong egg. I hatched three 5km eggs within a few minutes of each other during the week on a lunch time walk and got Krabby, Bellsprout and Spearow. According the that website, Spearow comes from a 2km egg but I know for a fact that this one came from a 5km. I know this because I've only seen a handful of 2km eggs and only 1 10km egg, all I ever seem to get is 5km!

Two questions bout the eggs though - is the hatch random or predetermined when you get the egg, and is there any truth in the "be in the country away from normal spawn points to hatch" method? Myself and the boyfriend were walking in the woods in the hopes of catching something interesting (nothing there of course outside of the usual fodder, too rural) and we both hatched a Vulpix within a few minutes of each other. I think we would have picked up the eggs together at the same stop at the same time too. Not sure if it was the location that caused us to hatch the same one, the fact that we got the eggs at the same time, or if it was just random chance!

I'm in rural Germany here, currently level 19.
    Travelled: 74.8 km
    Caught: 558
    Hatched: 32
    Visited: 415 pokestops
    In the pokedex: 60
Highest CP: 1404 Vaporean, 1014 Hypno and 1006 Golbat.

I caught the Golbat in the wild on Friday actually, first time seeing a 1000+ CP in the wild.

I have to say, I'm getting a little bored. I think it's because of my location. Of the 558 I've caught 112 were Weedle, 109 were Pidgey and 98 were Rattata. That's 57% of all my catches. :(

It's in the top 10. A maxed out Gyarados with perfect IV's and the optimal moveset would be an absolute beast. Of course you can still beat it with a weaker pokemon, primarily because you can move around and dodge, while the gym pokemon just stays there and takes all your attacks.

It's already determind at the time you receive the egg. You would both have hatched Vulpixes regardless of when/where you hatched it.

I considered blowing off rugby training this morning (it was 30 degrees by 9am) but went, and found Mr. Mime beside the stadium. Sound job! Got a tiny geodude on the way back. Two new for the Dex. There were digglets but I couldn't get to them across the river.

It's kind of funny the thinking and strategising and mathematics of getting the absolute optimal Pokemon then going to a gym for ten seconds of mashing the screen in a blind panic!

Are there any bulbasaur nests in the Dublin area that have been found?
I've picked up a few this week.

Outside the Kinara kitchen in Clontarf.

The other on Marine Road (by the gym). I've picked up 2 there this week.

I'm assuming you created a new account for it? Have you accepted Niantic's TOS before using the account?

Yea created a new Go account on the App with a different email address.

Set up the Map but it doesn't show anything and only says 'Waiting' at the top of the screen.

Edit: Set up a third account and logged in and it seems to be working now.

The green circles that load up, is that the map automatically scanning?

After creating said account, have you logged into the Pokemon Go App with it and accepted Niantic's TOS, created your character, selected a nickname, etc.?

I had four balls left coming out of the swimming pool. Eevie and Clefairy were standing waiting. Popped them with one ball each. Like a boss.

How do you people prepare for a trip to Bull Island. Do you need to go gathering 200 pokeballs down the Liffey first?

There's a place like that a half hour from me (narrow strips of land surrounded by water seem to be the best of all) but no pokestops.

Yup you need to be well stocked up on pokeballs. There's only like 5 pokestops in the whole island and 3 of them are in one area in the southern part. With the amount of pokemons there and so few stops, your Pokeballs are gonna disappear pretty quickly.

I read that the increased the spawns of continent-restricted pokemons and some other rare ones in an update this morning. Mr. Mime seems to be all over the place today.

That's interesting as I caught him this morning! I had him from an egg already but thought it odd that now, all of a sudden, he'd appear when I'd never seen him in the wild until today.

I saw my first Mime shadow on the luas red line this morning which was very odd. Couldn't get it though :-/
