Just managed to track down a Porygon on Nassau St using the new 'sightings' screen. :D It's not perfect but it's better than nothing, and tracking a Pokemon all by myself again gave me that buzz of excitement I haven't had since pre-3 steps!

Pretty sure you can't use that to actually track Pokemon down until the next update?

Well I just did, read a handy post on Reddit earlier that shows you how to triangulate the distance. Not as good as the old system but close.

Was in Dublin for a quick trip. Popped open Pokemon Go and it's literally Pokemon heaven up there. Lures everywhere I went and ones that actually give me something that isn't a rattata or pidgey! Catch of the day was a 575 Kingler at Heuston station.

What level are you that you are catching Pokemon at this level???

I've just hit level 16 and the highest I've caught is a 625 Pinsir :(

He should be in the 20's. I caught my 1766CP Lapras when I was level 22.

Anyone know of any good spots in the Limerick area?

I know that Lickitung can be found in the people's park, and Slowpokes and the occasional Slowbro spawn regularly at the treaty stone. Can anyone else add to the list?

exeggcute near bandstand in peoples park occasionally.
gyarado (gerardo as I call him) near st michaels rowing club?
Pidgy / ratatat fest in UL with occasional oddball stuff (really low CP hitmonlee, now known as "sh1tmonlee").

Other than that I was probably walking "tooo faaasht", to really see what's in a location you need to camp out there for an hour or pass there regularly. No sign of lickitung in park when I passed through. Or anything interesting at treaty stone.

Everything else has been a pidgy/ratatta/weedle/drowzee fest. Seems to be big fuss in Dublin over different urban parks... if the Peoples park is as good as it gets in Limerick then things are very poor. Was a bit of a laugh at first but the 100cp pidgys being 5 times harder to catch than 500cp evolved pokemon... meh. Finding some other good areas not too far out of my way might spark my interest again though.

I found so many weedles in Limerick - especially out in Castletroy area. Also quite a number of Kakuna in the same area.
Found Dratini and Eevee in UL - in the Foundation Building car park. A few more interesting Pokemons showed on nearby but didn't have time to investigate further.

Yeah a few interesting things showed up as "nearby" but I think it was just trolling. DratinI outside penneys last weekend. Hard to tell what's a Pokemon or not there tbh if you have AR turned on.

Niantic are cute whoores, 8 pokeballs to capture a 177CP Rattata ffs! Obviously they have the game designed to rape you of balls the higher up you get in hope that you will purchase them from the shop which i refuse to do! Probably part of the reason i always run out and am way behind in levels to most on here.

Outrageous though. it's easier to catch the rarer types than it is caterpee and rattata!

Anyone see the Daily Star today? Article about the first player in Ireland to Catch Em All.....26 year old from Harolds Cross. Also says he got Tauros, Farfetch'd and Kangaskhan from eggs. I assume this would have been before the official EU launch. Still can't get any verified confirmation that the regionals are no longer available in the 5km eggs. Anyone?

    Lvl 124 Omanyte from a 10km egg.

The update has meant that when I throw balls, I bloody launch them across the screen!!! And I do think that if you smack a -100 pokémon on the head that it should be caught straight away. No escaping balls at that level.
Right, heading out now for a wander!!! Let's see how many pidgees, drowzees, magikarp, polywag etc I get (have 69 pokemon caught as I write this)!!! It's raining here so it'll be tough to throw one handed (holding an umbrella, ye see).

    Merrion Square: Magmar central
    Kildare Street: Drowzee central
    Stephen's Green: Cubone central
Canal at pepper cannister: Psyduck central

    For me, anyway!!

Just caught a wild Dewgong!! 1150CP. Result, took 1 great ball, 3 ultra and two nice throws but I got him. First time seeing him, and I only ever got a Seel from an egg

I was wondering was that just me, glad to hear it happening to someone else, not happening everytime but definitely happened a few times on first throw where it shot mile across over the head of pokemon.

It's bloody annoying when that happens whilst trying to grab a 10cp pidgee!!

On my wander I caught 34 extra pokemon! Nothing amazing. A heap of Magikarp at the canal, though.

I've found it happens if the pokemon jumps just as you are about to do your first throw

Went for a walk no sightings until halfway through and egg I was incubating didn't register distance until after this point. Only a 2k egg so it should have hatched before I got home.

Level 22 with roughly 84 different ones found.

Plenty water based guys in Heuston Station, : Psyduck, Magikarps, Slowpoke Staryu, Poliwags.

Caught me a Poliwrath, a SlowBro and a Tentcruel here too.

Sandshrews seem to be popular in Malahide Castle as does Magmars in Merrion Square and Donabate Farm.

Got a Gydrados in near Dubklin Zoo, and also seen but failed to get a Snorelax here.

Levelled up 1.5 levels today. Few evolutions including my first Eevee to Vaporeon and my first 1000 cp Pokemon. To end the day, caught a Snorlax CP 960 at the exact same spot I caught a Dragonite when I first started the game!

Yup, me too! Though if you hold down the place where the pokeball should be (where it waits before you throw it), sometimes it comes zooming back.

Anyone elses pokestops/gyms disappearing off the map completely?

Just curious but are the starter Pokemon as rare in the rest of the country as they are in Waterford? Nearly a month of play and I have yet to find a wild Bulbasaur, Charmander or Pikachu! Squirtle I've seen a few times alright but definitely not on a regular basis.

Level 21 now with 98 in the Pokedex.

I see squirtle regularly enough in Dublin but I've only seen bulbasaur once at a lure and I've never seen charmander in the wild :( dunno how I'll ever get my Charizard!

Not disappearing as such but I had a good few pokestops today that had turned white, could spin the disc but nothing was coming out of it.

    Means the game has crashed.

Aha, so I should just shut it down and reload it when it happens?
