They renamed Nearby to Sightings and added some grass.

    Amazing work...

That's just part of it. They're beta testing a tracker with some players n the US, whereby the Pokémon will have coloured circles around them, which will indicate where there are, enabling you to track them

    Awh, thanks :)

Last time I was in Stephens green, all I got was a million drowzees, but I'm hearing blastoise has been there recently, so worth a shot I guess :)

There's a gym 50m from where I'm staying with one crappy Mon defending it. Out of WiFi range, dammit.

Here is the new tracker. It is currently being beta tested in some areas of the US.

But only if you are close to a pokestop, so if you aren't in city it won't be of much use.

So it will tell you if you go to pokestop X that, say, slowbro will appear in the nearby list, but you still won't have any method of tracking them once you get there?

    How is that useful?
Or does it mean the Pokemon is actually within say 50m of the stop?

not clear yet, but for "rural" players, aka players without 2-3 nearby pokestops its next to bleedin useless.

That calculator thing is quite eye opening I put in my most powerful magmar 937cp and it came through at 4.4% perfect, then one at 529 cp and he was 51%. So turns out I have been wrong to be getting rid of lower CP pokemon and evolving the higher ones. Feck hope I havn't got rid of any near perfect ones. Will have to go through everything I have now.

i keep running out of Pokeballs, used 7 and a razzberry trying to catch a Slowpoke (which i've never caught) and still didn't catch i'm, then just as i got back to my car i missed out on a wild Ponyta, Polywag, Manky (which i've never caught) and Nidoran all right in the one spot. Disaster.

Also just hatched 2 5k eggs and got two 450 Seels, little bit shit but i'm only 4 candees away from evolving a Seel now though so that's cool.
I just took a bus across Dublin this morning, got over 100 pokeballs, about 30 great balls and about 10 ultras. If you're short on stuff, public transport is the way to go. I normally drive on the m50 on my commute.
    Awh, thanks :)

I think Merrion Square might have more rare pokemon than Stephens Green.

Just like ingress. This game is simply not for rural players and that won't change. I don't agree with it but that's how it is.

Could you not buy a 30 day Meteor sim and top up by €20 and avail of there 4G offer?

There's a gym in Wexford for the last two days and there's a 10 CP Diglet in it. I think everyone feels sorry for him :D

ah i dont mind really, i'm 20 minutes outside of the city center so i can and do travel for work.

Loving the game, but they really just need to put in a client tracker, take the load off the server. etc.

Have a look at PoGoBag website. Handy to see your pokemon's on a desktop on big screen to see which one's have the best stats.

Not 100% sure of it myself, but what I gather is when you get to the pokestop shown, you can click on the pokemon and it will show up on your map, exactly where it is.

Been pretty good for me. A few occasions allright its been down due to the traffic load its getting. He updates his twitter account fairly regularly with updates. The "enable tracking" button can snap you around the place, so I just leave that disabled.

Ah i see now, it was the enable tracking thing that was messing it up!
How accurate have you found this to be? It's not showing anything much in my area besides the usually pidgeys and weedles, even at a usual hotspot for the rare types.

This website is under heavy load (queue full)

We're sorry, too many people are accessing this website at the same time. We're working on this problem. Please try again later.

Seems to be the common theme with all these sites popping up

PoGoBag seems to be working fine for me.

Other sites normally messed up due to all traffic. Most of these guys have a great idea for helping the community.

Helping the community doesn't translate too much into help keeping servers/hardware running.

They should start charging for it, take the money and hire a proper server for it.

Then again the real problem is all of that requires time, which most of the guys probably don't have and only doing this crap as a hobby.

It's back now for me. Not shítting on the idea of what any of these guys are doing - just pointing out it's a bit annoying that someone makes a neat tool and it gets traction then blows up and crashes due to overload.

pretty accurate to be honest, ran down the road the other night to catch a muck and it was there. Yesterday caught a abra/meowth at same spot.

With the site I've been able to figure out the local spawns around me within walking distance. Before I only knew of 3 and if a new mon turned up in the nearby map it was a case of trying each of them to see if it was there. Now I've figured out 4 more aswell.

Just in terms of evolving pokemon.

Say for example sake I have 2 drowzee's

    CP 543 IV 68%
    CP 239 IV 95%

Would it be more useful to evolve the high IV one instead of the high CP one?

I am at a place where I have high CP pokemon but looking to get more perfect ones.

It nearly always seems to be the case that if the IV is high/ CP is low. or High CP and low IV.

What is this IV thing people speak of and how do I find it?

No way, evolve the higher CP. It's nearly double!

IV's are a waste of time IMO... It's at most a 10% difference. For something like a drowsee its pretty irrelevant.

Well I only used Drowze as an example.
But I do come up against it.

10% difference in a gym battle can be a lot. A lot of the time when battling i lose on the last 10% of HP.

The gym near my work seems to have been re-set to level 1.... Bot run gyms being taken down maybe?

That would be incredibly useful oi it worked like that. It if the just have you the distance and it updated properly.

Could be just taken back down by players. Do remember multiple people can attack an opposing team gym.

So even if the pokemon is overpowered. A group of 3 people could take it down.
