Wow. That line-up gets better with each passing year. 5 or 6 of my favourite EP performances and a lot of acts who are long overdue a return.

To be honest there's not much registering on that line up after 5pm, I've a feeling I was down there very early on Friday.

LCD would have only have been doing their first album tour in 2005, no surprise they flew under the radar then!

How many years have Hot Chip played EP? Seem to appear on a lot of line ups in previous years. Probably unlikely to be added again after playing last year but they're playing Festival No. 6 the weekend of EP and Bestival the weekend after so they're definitely around the weekend of EP!

Wouldn't mind a break from them actually.

He's awful these days, hope I never have to suffer through one of his DJ sets ever again...

Haven't seen him since that night with the 3d glasses. Didn't think he was magical but was well impresses with the glasses.

Have to practice the happy hour dance for the bar when he's on:)

He was awful in 2005 too, went with a bunch of On the Floor at the Boutique loving mates and cringed through some awful tune selection, barely there mixing, and general useless superstar DJ behaviour. Think he even took a break at one point to sit on some part of the lit up stage for a rest. Compare with older fellows like Bill Brewster or Greg Wilson who are still making an effort. Fatboy is an embarrassment to his older career.

Looking at that 2005 schedule, I realise that I missed the legendary Arcade Fire gig for nothing. I wasn't that pushed to see them, but assumed that I'd gone to see someone else. I was obviously getting a bite to eat or something, cause I didn't see any of the clashing acts either. (Except maybe Ben Watt in Bodytonic, before heading over to Royksopp?)

Don't think Roisin Murphy actually performed that year either - seem to remember she was a no-show.

I'd say the other way round, you might even see LCD early, they've very limited appeal. Not in the same league as the other headliners.
This is one of the funniest posts I've ever read on here

Should get something this week I'd have thought.
    Not expecting much mind you.
Hard to lose the suspicion they are doing it on the cheap big time.
Probably higher expectations of the Red Bull stage to be honest

Yeah with 3 & a half weeks to go, it's hard to know if anything major will be announced. Do they ever leave it this late to announce more acts?

they've announced mid range goodies (Jenny Lewis) at this stage before, but they've never sold out so early before or announced the acts in such an all over the shop manner.

Yeah it's a different scenario this time.
The lineup would need to get a major boost or it'll probably be my last time going.
End of the Road and Festival No.6 are around the same time, and Bestival too, so there's plenty of choice and those choices are often top class for lineups.
Even a quick look at EOTR and you see the likes of GOAT, Thee Oh Sees, Steve Mason, Omar Souleyman and King Gizzard, all of whom would give the EP mid-tier act lineup a huge lift.

yeah, i'm happy enough to keep meself quite busy with what's there for the weekend but if it is actually a case that there's half the number of main arena acts listed compared to previous years with what is quite a jump in numbers again, then I'll be looking to go abroad for a festival fix next year unless they pull finger out and show us what's behind the fur coat.

knickers or no knickers time is here...

However at this late stage I would think that's more a last minute scramble than a plan. I doubt anything worth talking about will be added. They are basically plugging loads of little new stages constantly on facebook in an effort to distract from the mediocre at best main acts. Hopefully I will end up being proven wrong. But it's never been this late. Feels like they are trying to maximise their profits over actually providing quality.

If, as others have said, we're about 40-45 short of 'main' lineup acts compared to previous years, and we assume they aren't going to announce that many names this week, should we take it that they're trying to plug those gaps by bringing the RBMA in from the forest and the likes?

Are all the usual main arena stages even guaranteed to be there this year?
