Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Goodwin Smith, the shoemakers, have a free to join league just setup, just over a dozen folk in it at the moment.
Year's supply of shoes is the prize, though I doubt that constitutes 365 pairs!

Just over 20 in it at the moment, though their tweet is only 30 mins old.

Bohs will be running a pay league...it's nearing the end of the production line and should launch shortly.

I'm not running it myself this time...just providing consultancy services and enjoying retirement!!

I'll post the link up here as soon as it becomes available.

Best of luck to the Harps league this year (I haven't forgotten our sister league!).

    Moolah league heading past £3,000.

Sacrilege!! Think of the glory of that one magical season and a double title win!! :)

Moolah will be tougher this year I reckon.

I'm doing both and skipping the boards one.

Skipped the Boards one also, being realistic i have a good shot at a local league each year so not overspending on others to maximise profit.

I ran two myself but not got a hope of winning either I'd say.

Hey guys, for anybody interested the Wexford Youths FC league is open to all. €20 entry and there are interesting players such as Kevin Doyle, Conor McDonald, Stephen Hunt, Colm Wooly Parkinson and more guest players to be added soon. Monthly prizes and overall prizes too.

And yes, I am involved with the mighty Wexford Youths but no harm in sharing this here!

Happy with numbers so far, around 40 people signed up. Not everybody who paid actually joined yet but the invites were sent out. Will be interesting with the few well known names playing - with plenty more to come! Thanks for signing up

It's done manually by Jameozzie. I got mine the following day though. Drop him a pm or email the Wexford info email on the link.

I've joined the harps league and CL now as well as the wexford youths.
I've had an email from Longford town to renew, is there any interest in that one this year?

No harm to Longford but I'll be staying away this year. I was never able to find out the orize breakdown despite emailing. Never got any emails confirming winners etc. I came 5th last year in it.

I'm sure they paid out but communication woeful.

    Hi Alan

Your invite was sent on Sunday like the others who paid on Sunday (I know because I send them!) Check your spam folder, the email comes directly from the fantasy football league website

If you have any troubles let me know

This will be tough to win but really is one of the top pay leagues around. After the Harps of course.

Just for anyone thinking of entering this, harps1954 may be a new poster but may be better known to yous as the admin of the Finn Harps Pay league. So yer money's safe with him.

My first Head to Head League is full up and I had quite a few asking to join after I had the 20 places filled. So, I'm doing a second one. Same as the first - €20 to enter, Limited to 20 people and three prizes at the end €250, €100 and €50. If you are interested, PM me and I'll give you payment details and code. The second one is already half full, so you'll need to be quick.

Yep. Regular Twitter updates and once you enter, the organiser will invite you to join their Facebook group and all the league details are there and lots of discussion too.

    Very.

I'm in fairly regular contact with the organiser over the past year and as above there is a very active private FB group.

They even have an end of year awards do.

Sounds like a shark league though. I'm only really interested in getting involved in shark-infested leagues if there are a sufficient amount of fish to make the pot odds in my favour. Generally any league posted on here isn't going to be a great way to make money unless you have the season of your life.

I know that sounds quite ruthless to say out loud but I'm sure we all think this way.

That's all true. It's not gonna be easy won. It was a lower standard than the Harps league last year. I came 9th with 14k and around 2.5k won it.

But he's promoted the hell out of it on twitter this year and possibly doubled the entry so it's an elite league now. But well run, and monthly prizes give you a chance to win something even if it doesn't go to plan. Monthlies made me good cash last year.

It and Harps are the two I'm doing that would need a dream season to make any impact.

TBH I mostly do the Harps league so I can have a place in the Champions League which is a format I'm not able to be attracted to.

I enjoy playing with all you top players and that is why the FSA Premier League works so well for me but I sure don't wanna be investing all my money every August playing against you.

That's why I'm not doing the boards league. But i don't mind a flutter on a couple of 'prestige' leagues just in case that one good season comes along. :)

Hopefully cover it by winning a few quid in others.

Be good to mount an Irish assault on the Moolah. Quite a few FSA heads in it. Ziegler ran it close last year. The late roryc was 8th a couple of points ahead of me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,543 ✭✭✭✭CSF

I think I'll probably give the boards money league a miss for this season for the same reasons. I'm a solid 5k-15k finisher but I've never gone beyond that. It would be annoying if I suddenly went and smashed that this season but to be honest if I managed it I would be so happy about that, I wouldn't even care about the money, prestige is more than enough for me when money isn't involved.

Harps CL is an FPL knockout cup with CL style group stages. Manually run. But it's full for this year. Limited to 64 teams. €1,000 for winner.

I run a FPL league on Blonde Poker forum which I think is probably the best run fantasy league out there.
    http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=67050.0
Half the events are for Blonde members only and half are Open events if anyone would like to join.
Not only does all the entry money stay in the prizepool but there is also added extra money every year. Most of that will stay in the members only leagues but there will be a £50 prize for the highest individual GW ranking (not score) that will be open to all entrants.
    The events that will be open to allcomers will be;
    1. £20 H2H
    This will be uncapped numbers.
    2. £30 Cups package
This will be capped at 32 runners.
There will be a Champions League (£15), an FA Cup (£10) and a League Cup (£5).
The Champions League will have group stages and then 2 leg knockout from the last 16 on in a H2H format. The League Cup and FA Cup will be straight H2H knockout.
    3. £20 Last Man Standing.
Uncapped numbers. As it says. The lowest scoring player in the league is eliminated every week until you have the last man standing.
    4. £100 Classic
Uncapped numbers but last year only had 10 runners.

    I have run a number of leagues in previous years;

    http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=65723.0

Payment via Paypal and all entries are in British pounds.
    PM for details.

    Hi all,

I came across this £5 entry prize league in aid of McMacmillan cancer support.

30% of the pot goes towards prizes and the rest to Macmillan but it is a worthy cause. For only a fiver i would even suggest to donate even if you don't enter the league as it's a small amount but cumulatively could make a difference in someone's life.

I post this with a purposeful and heavy heart though. A lot of newish members to this forum may not recognize me but for a while i was an avid poster on here. Unfortunately about 2 years ago i was diagnosed with a very aggressive terminal cancer. I was only expected to live a few months so it is quite miraculous i am still here. As such my contribution to this forum has dwindled to nothingness and is mostly conciled to history

The start of the season last year left me with a heavy conundrum. I was so used to picking a team and enjoying the start of the FPL season but the thought struck me - i probably won't be around for the end of the season! What was the actual point in even joining the game. I had decided to retire as the FPL adventure seemed redundant in it's importance to me and one i could not enjoy. I changed my mind at the last minute as i contemplated the great enjoyment the game brought me over the years. In a time of great difficulty, one should have as much release as possible and FPL was certainly one avenue of distraction, release and enjoyment for me so i endeavoured to play the game as per normal. Whilst most here set themselves lofty targets of top 10k, top 5k, top 1k finishes etc with gleeful thoughts of cleaning up in cash leagues - i had one simple target - to be alive for the 2016/17 season. With great difficulty i achieved that and imo that makes me the highest ranking winner here from last year - there is no greater prize than life.

So once again this year i set upon the same journey, to be here this time next year. Unfortunately my chronic medical issues means that i may never experience a "respectable" season as accepted by many around here as there were several weeks where i simply could not administer my team and times where it didn't even register with me as a necessity. When one is fighting for their life on a hospital bed, one does not go thinking about captaincy choices or last minute transfers. As such my team suffered greatly last year as i had my worst season ever but joyfully i still feel victorious as we kick off the new season. For those invested in leagues with me, i will never be any real competition going forward but my goals are different - to make it to 2017/18! As an act of faith i therefore find myself entering the game this year albeit with different but much more important targets than others.

I continue to play as the game brings enjoyment and helps pass the time. Additionally, this forum and it's many wonderful contributors help bring an extra dimension to the game and thus extra enjoyment to my life and for that i am forever thankful. I may not contribute much anymore but i read this forum whenever i can and look forward to the inciteful contributions offered up by the many great players around here.

I could go on but i think i've said enough for now, feel free to take my cash league money - I'm just looking for banter, entertainment and good competition :)

Once again though, this is something very close to my heart so please do consider joining the league below. If you have no space for it in your allocation then just throw in the fiver as it's only a small amount. If i win anything this year i intend to donate it to local cancer charities anyway as thanks for the wonderful work that so many of them do in the lives of people like me.
