Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You forgot Wibbs' cackle gang. Probably didn't take off because he slapped a copyright on it.

I like funny or pisstaking hashtags, I have to admit.

But yes, #eatclean can fúck right off. You just know they are mainlining cakes and Big Macs and puking them up once the camera is off them. :pac:

#nofilter is a bit overused but again can be used in a funny way, and I understand when people want to show that what is in the photograph is exactly how it appeared ie. an amazing sunset or unusual clouds.

Not a hashtag but that crying laughing emoji.

    The go-to smilie of dickheads.

How did you know my name is Richard Head?

Not a huge fan of hashtags, but I love emojis.

Emojis capture nuance with brevity. Before I die I will write an anthology of emoji poetry.

Agreed, I love them. Absolutely love them. They are an art form.

    My favourite is this one:

The Menz, men-children, mansplaining etc etc are quite obnoxious.

    white knights

'White knighting' is one of the most moronic ones out there. Yes, that dude is just sticking up for some women because he thinks, either consciously or subconsciously that it'll increase his chances of porking one of them. No other reason at all.

That every mildly impressive thing is 'epic' nowadays.

Lol annoys me too, especially when describing something that isn't even funny 'Went to the shop to get some milk, but they didn't have any lol'

    Or 'legendary'. Or 'awesome'. :(

    @everythingalcoholic.

Oh really, you're having a drink. Fair play, you must be gas. That's a mighty achievement.

    Bloody millenials.

That emoji is what's missing from this site. I've wanted a quizzical emoji for quite some time.

    #WokeUpLikeThis

Only learned about this recently myself. Made famous from a song by Beyonce. Ironically people doing themselves up then taking pictures proclaiming that's how they naturally look.

    People with awful spelling.

Grate - my aunt uses it the whole time, and it's never about cheese

Still don't understand why the phrase feminazi is allowed on boards

    Its basically flaming

Im not sure if the following qualifies.
Using the word "brewskis" as a synonym for beer makes me want to stab the offender with a chair.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,039 ✭✭✭✭retro:electro

Why do people say girl boss? Can you not just say boss? The very need to use the word "girl" is implying that only men have boss potential. It's irritating beyond belief.

This post shows me that you will never please everyone and should just use whatever damn words you like.

Meh, hashtags don't bother me. They're not going away anytime soon either so you either get over it or continue to let it rile you up.

I do love emojis though and use them constantly. I don't really see how it's any different from using the smileys on boards except that there's a lot more choice. Also, it still wrecks my head that you can't use smileys on boards!! Want more and younger users? Allow emojis...

Funnily enough I love the  on boards and until very recently there wasn't an equivalent emoji on the smartphones - it would really annoy me that I couldn't express myself adequately when texting :D
    Tis all good now though
