I get the impression they don't care too much about what happens their bodies after they've "martyred" themselves. Suicide bombers obviously don't put much thought towards it.

    Do "an Osama" on him.

    Buried at sea.

Stops other yahoos congregating at a his burial spot.
Salafis/ Wahhabis like these guys are more virulently opposed to idolatry than any other Muslims. They bury their dead in the desert, they are opposed to visiting graves or building shrines.

Shrines are more of a Shia thing. Some beautiful Islamic shrines in Iran, but none in Saudi. They've even tried to destroy the grave of their prophet Muhammad, a number of times.

Surely this conflict was started by the church using every kind of blackmail and bribe to get Europeans to conquer Jerusalem so they could go there on their summer holidays, the killing has not stopped since

Not directed at you, but I have found it interesting that some people seem more offended about comments directed at the deplorable actions of the church than the events themselves.

I can't remember what comedia said it, but a joke never killed anyone.

    Few bad eggs...it's history now...blinkers on...cultural belief ;)

A great and possibly game changing gesture by the Islamic community and this needs to stay in place for all terrorists.

With the new agreement to not name or show the face of terrorists after death, the glorification of their acts has been massively reduced.

Islamic communities and European media need to follow suit.

Here is a powerful local message from local Muslims reported on Sky News: locals refuse to bury body of priest killer saying they don't want to taint Islam with him. I think that is just the sort of religious action needed to send a religious message to those who swallow the message of IS: you are outside the pale.

This is a great sign. The French know already that they need to do more to encourage integration. The risks of ghettoisation of muslim communities has been signalled for many years.

I've read this five times so I must be stupid because I genuinely don't know what this sentence means.

I think it means that the Muslim community condemns those who kill people forbidden by the religion. In this case catholic priests. But that they only condemn in this particular case, instead condoning suicide bombers, theatre shooters, etc, a being OK with Islam since catered for as being jihad, and therefore good.
    Its pretty screwed up.

It means that if IS murderers are driven by what they think is islam it's helpful if the Muslim community tells them that it's actually sinful and punishable by infamy.

Er no, relations between Islam and Christianity were not luvvy-duvvy up until some evil Pope decided to go all Crusader Kings.

I swear there could be a thread on this board of the Dalai Lama coming over here and someone would say how great it is he didn't hide mass pedophilia.

    Well he didn't did he?

Also I'm not going to say anything bad about a person who keeps coming back from the dead. Not like the one trick pony jesus lad.

Funny enough for even the most rabid fundamentalist, among all the smiting of your enemies, enslaving their women etc Islam is quite clear about not attacking Christian clerics. Even in times of war, they are to be granted safe passage. There can be arguments back and forth about the nature of jihad and all that, but that part is pretty clear. Murdering that priest was against the faith

    Where does it say that?
What is find is a teaching,
Spare no one, including the Bishop the Monk and the Priest.
The killers likely took their justification from that.
