Love the look of the CLK, Zebra! What was it like that is sold for just €300? I guess no NCT, anything wrong with it? CLK200? What spec? Presumably it wasn't a manual?

It was just like that and sold for 300. Needed brake flexi lines for the front, A track rod end, An oil leak cleaned up and a parking lamp bulb for the NCT. It also has a fairly bad drive line vibration. I think there is a universal joint hanging out of it.

The bodywork is rough and those photos are very flattering ;)

Its a CLK200 Elegance auto. Failed the NCT just about a year ago and I decided I was never going to get around to fixing it up, just no time.

a 320clk for sure but i cant recall if auto i presume so :o

Myself, 166man and QV also own a CLK320 but it's a soft top. We'll be keeping that for some time yet :D:cool:

Nice and rare with a reliable engine. Little or no depreciation. Auto box would suit it better.

Where would you scrap it for 100 euro? The guys that collect will only take it for free so thought why not try it on Donedeal? It could be useful to someone.

Something tells me you never brought a car to a scrap yard.

As I said, drive it into a scrapyard

Won't get €250 though, I'd say not even €100 these days...

YMMV, I've never brought a car into a scrapyard myself, I prefer to sell them :)

If anyone knows a good scrapyard open today or evening time during the week, let me know! Not much interest yet so looks like it's off to the graveyard at the moment.

Friend of mine offered 45 euro from scrappy for a 2002 ford galaxy. . 30 euro per 1000 kg is the going rate they said

Give it time, that's an absolute bargain, few months test is worth that. Shame to scrap it when it could tide someone over for a while.

talk of all these new (in my book) cars being scrapped makes me sad :-(

    1. start a separate thread if you need help find a 7 seater. It will be easier for everyone and it won't get lost in this megathread
    2. only post cars that are inside the bangernomics range, or within 100 euro.

edit: didnt realise it had to be within €100

    €1795 tax and test...looks fresh

I always liked the A2, very advanced car for its time, but very reliable and comfy as well. This ones a 1.4 diesel which has plenty of power and serious real world economy.

    €1,900, NCT 05/17

Long 13 month NCT 08/17, €2150, so should come in at Bangernomics prce. 2.0 Auto, for a nice usable summer and winter cruiser. Classic insurance should be possible.

The galaxy is next door to me..all it needs is a steering rack. It's tested till end of the year, has 2 brand new tyres and the 1.9tdi engine and gearbox are in good shape. The timing belt was done this year too.. but the seller can't even get 300 for it as it stands.
