can anyone recommend a phone for this, my one is not compatible with the game, and i fiddled about with it on a tablet and am interested in playing it properly so i need a cheapish phone for it like 100-150 range

Im not sure if the Moto G 3rd gen would work but its 100 from tesco at the moment i think.

The Moto G 3rd Gen should be fine for this and is about €99 from Meteor and Tesco at the minute.

Or spring the extra for the 4th gen version which has a bigger screen, a faster CPU, better camera and more ram.

I've found turning off the AR really helps with battery life and performance, and it's easier to catch the little fecks.

Yeah, I play with AR off generally, too much of a pain in the arse to use when trying to catch things.

Now that I have ye all here...

I'm using an Xperia Z3 Compact and I like to listen to music while wandering and hunting. I'm using Deezer because I got 6 months free with Three but I'll be listening away and it will just randomly close in the background while I'm playing the game.

    Any way around this?

Bear in mind if you do want to use AR you week need a phone with a gyroscope.

I only figured out last night that the spinning white pokeball icon in the top left appears when it can't connect to the server. So, if you have that displaying, wait or restart before going walkabout or your eggs will never hatch.

Flying to the UK there now and just saw a Gyarados in the Cork airport gym. First time i've seen one. I wonder was it caught wild or did someone get the hundred odd magic carp...

Caught my first dratini delighted. Seen 49 caught 46. Captured 375 in total. Level 16

How do you get the total captured Stat , i've 46 seen 46 Captured lvl 14, and 56 held at the minute mostly because i have 3 evee's (with the 3 diffrent nicknames that are supposed to get get all 3 evolutions) and a healthy stock of Pigys , Rattas , Weedles and Drowzys all ready to upgraded when i play my lucky egg later

If you can do it a Lure or incense walking /on a bus + a lucky egg ... gaurentes a stream of pokemon and double XP

Even better if you save your evolves for when you've played the lucky egg also can be a super productive half hour.

    It's a Oneplus one

It has me correctly sitting in my office and doesn't move, but if I toggle location off it moves my avatar to a pokestop about 300m down the road.

Toggle it back on and it'll move back to the correct location. It doesn't record the moving every time, sometimes it'll move instantly from one spot to the other without walking between the two, but the majority of the time it tracks the distance onto my eggs. Can also keep spinning the pokestop every 10 mins, pretty handy.

Edit: here he is, running around like a mad man

Can't complain some of my eggs distance was done by driving.

Just did a test this morning on the phone. I walked 4kms but the app only recorded 3.4kms so it is very inaccurate indeed. Phone was a oneplus one.

As a side note there's a rake of pokestops and three gyms in St Endas Park in Rathfarnham.

i walked 8k home the other evening and recoreded that perfect but on the same day i had to do another 6k according to my Withings tracker to get Pokemon Go to record the other 2k so like everything it can be a bit glichy.

That said i hatched 3 2km eggs on the bus this morning traveling through a bit of traffic

400 magikarp candies to evolve a Gyarados. Never going to happen I think to myself. Don't bother trying. It's for grinders with way more time than me.

Then I'm walking around and BAM. Gyarados appears right in front of me. And I caught him! :D fecker has got to be super rare because I've only ever seen one in all the gyms I've spotted.

I threw a pokeball at a rattata earlier and it went up in smoke! Is that normal?

I still don't get the gyms. I had a fight in a friendly gym but died just the same as in an enemy gym. Then I left one to train but he just died.

I believe the greyish cloud is when the pokémon flees before you can catch it, I've gotten it a few times (mainly with Caterpie).

Was it more like the Ratatta doing a legger ? Cause that's what happens to me regularly

    out of pokeballs again....

I used to walk to work everyday, but now I take the car to drive the 300 metres to work, just so I can drive into town afterwards and hit a dozen pokestops to fulfill my habit

New app out called Poké Rader - allows users to input locations of Pokemon they've caught onto the map.

Had a quick look at the Limerick area, it's barren at the moment but the app is very straight forward and user friendly.
