I'm with 3 pre-pay 20 euro a month. The only downfall is that they don't remind you when the 30 days is up. Coverage can also be patchy, my phone often thinks I'm roaming when I'm home in Kildare but at the same time I was getting 4G is the arse-end of connemara over the weekend.

Is that the all you can eat data?

    This game sometimes...lol

I'm at home and I open up the game, just to see what's nearby and a Blastoise pops up. so of course I head out to try and find it, the moment I step outside, the game decides my gps isn't working, restart the app and Blastoise is gone. I waited a good 15 minutes before restarting, hoping my gps would work.

Well I've yet to hit a limit and I use my phone fairly regularly. In the last 5 months my highest usage was over 7GB and that month we had no broadband so I was using my phone as a hotspot.

Went for a walk this evening with the wife. Must have covered about 5km. Couldn't login at all. Nothing towards hatching the eggs.
    What a waste. :p

Thanks. I'm with meteor atm. Seeing as you use your phone most of the time as a hotspot and your highest ever usage was 7gb, would this plan be OK for me.

    https://www.meteor.ie/pay-as-you-go/simplicity/?linkid=Meteor-pcrf-get-it-prepay-15gb-unlimited-calls-130616-track

I have wifi at home so I won't be using the data full time like you.

I'm just not sure how fast data is eaten up and the last thing I need is to be overcharged unknowingly

Well the best thing about pre-pay is that you're not going to get overcharged because if you go over the limit they'll just start taking it out of your credit and when that runs out they'll just cut you off. My thirty days were actually up today so looking at my data for the last month this app used 185MB and I was using it for at least 2/3 hours every day for 5 days. The ten euro plan could easily workout for you and if not you can always bump up, I don't think Meteor will complain about more money.

Thanks a mil. The bold part was exactly the kind of thing I was looking for.

Just want to ask you about 3. Is the 20 euro taken from your top up or is the 20 euro unlimited data together.

I get the unlimited data and I get the twenty euro credit, so if I forget to top up I still have a twenty euro cushion, then I'll get a text to let me know how much I've spent on data and I buy credit asap. You get unlimited data with the €20 top-up, you're not buying unlimited data for €20

Just done a bit of research and this plan has been here for years!!! I must be living under a rock. That's a fantastic deal. I think i'll be switching to 3 tomorrow. Cheers bud.

(btw we probably should have brought this to pm....kinda got off topic....ah well.....sorry mods) :p

My biggest problem with this game is how much it drains my phone battery.

Now this is how you map out pokemon sightings and catches.

if only i knew how to do it.

I know the name is Pokemon Go but is there anything I can do except transfer and upgrade my Pokemon while I'm sat at home?

There is also no pokestops that I can reach from my house.

Turned on the app while laying in bed for a look at whats nearby and a Hypno spawns on top of me. Almost makes up for the Abbra I was hunting yesterday evening but lost when the app froze and I had to reboot.

Only 147cp because I'm only a lvl 6, but I'm still happy with him.

The only way to play at home is to use incense unless your lucky enough to live close to a spawn. I ain't paying a euro for every 30 mins of catching lol.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,682 ✭✭✭Subcomandante Marcos

There are about 5 spawn points within 100 meters of my house and two of them are about 30 meters max away so every other time I open at home I get one or two pops. Usually just Weedles and Drowseys though.

Pretty sure the rustling leaves mean nothing at this point and also what's nearby thing coz many times things that weren't on the list just appeared.

Are there dedicated spawn sites? In that case my house is one. Caught Lapras, electabuzz, eevee, charmander and loads of others from the comfort of my bed

Just got beast of a clefable, Gona test him on a gym later. I reckon due to HP, typing and movset he'll be hard to usurp!

I just hatched two 5k eggs from sitting at my desk and toggling location on/off

    Interesting.

Used a lucky egg before evolving some pokemon and I ended up jumping up two full levels, not too shabby.
