Electronic Partner in Galway fixed my Mi3 a few times. Wasn't screens though, the sim tray.

I don't know of any places in Ireland that will fix it. I had a Mi4 that had a broken screen twice, it seems a fairly fragile phone to be honest, the second break it fell from my sofa to the floor, a distance of 3 feet at most.

You can get replacement screen here:
    http://www.honorbuy.com/37-Replacement-Parts-for-xiaomi-mi4

I believe its a fairy tricky phone to repair though, the design means its easy to damage the metal band when opening it up.

Bobo's in Clondalkin swapped a screen on an TCL M2U for the young fella recently.

Not sure if there is a website, but he did have an ad on adverts.ie

Try uninstalling the device drivers and then reinstalling, or a different USB port.

    Or both.

I recall I had to launch the .bat twice in a row I think, when the phone reboots just run the recovery.bat again.

If that still doesn't work, flash it the old fashioned way using fastboot and adb, I can give a hand there if you need it.

I've tried various drivers, cables, usb port's etc. and no joy. Tried recovery.bat twice in a row as you said and nothing..

Pain in me face with it now...lovely looking phone but I don't have the time/knowledge to be faffing about with it. Might sell it on :(

Try the old fashioned way first anyways.

Plug the phone in, make sure USB Debugging is turned on and browse to the folder you have the Recovery .zip extracted to. Hold Shift, right click and press Open Command Window Here. Type adb devices and make sure the phone is detected, then type "adb reboot fastboot" I believe is the command. "fastboot devices" is next step, unplug and replug if the phone doesn't appear, then type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" and then "fastboot reboot"

Should be perfect if you don't run into errors, post here if you do and I'll use my own to debug my commands, too lazy/drunk atm

Have the redmi note 3 about 4 months now only hassle I have is I'm situated just outside naas and the data is painfully bad, is it just the bands they use and I'm stuck with it or can it be changed, or is it the version of ROM I'm running sphinx international version??

    3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100
    TD-SCDMA
    4G bands LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500)

Its pretty well sorted, only noteable exception is Band 20 FDD-LTE, that depends on your carrier.

I'm with meteor but data is terrible all around my locality, in dublin it's OK but I rarely get 3g here and never 4g

Just a **** area then. It fully supports their 3G network.

While you might not feel like you live in the sthicks with things as they are if you're 4km from the local exchange you're a rural user.

Always worth grabbing a few PAYG sims and testing other providers, it really does vary from house to house so the best way to know is to actually have a play with all (Meteor, Vodafone, Three).

I think the thing that frustrates me the most about these Chinese sites is trying to get a straight answer about stock. "We have it in stock, oops we just literally sold out, we'll have some in the next two days, oops would you mind waiting a week or so?"

    /end OT rant -_-

It's been a few months since I did all this and can't remember the procedure but followed that guide and had no problem. The driver uninstaller is good advice. Can you try a different windows install? I wouldn't be selling on the phone just because of this, stock Rom and recovery are fine. Granted you can't root or do backups but not the end of the world to me.

Hi, I'm thinking of getting the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro Prime 3GB/32GB. Anyone know where I can get this with the fast delivery and no customs\VAT to be paid? Where would my cheapest option be? TIA.

Have a look through the last few pages, or check the sites mentioned in the OP. Prices can be fairly fluid as new models come out so you're best picking a few sites and checking yourself.

Hong Kong Goldway on Aliexpress would be my recommendation. If you select sellers shipping method you should get the phone in under 10 days without customs. It comes with the international firmware too, so you can get OTA updates.

I don't see any reason why you wouldn't get stung with customs or why you would get it in under 10 days with that link.

They only way to be guaranteed to avoid customs is if the items is shipped to you from within the EU.

Got mine in under 7, brother got his in 8, GF 10. None of us had to pay customs.

If you select sellers shipping method or EU express they guarantee no customs if you actually read the description.

Not the cheapest but Gizchinashop ship from EU is a good option. My Ulefone Power was shipped from Italy. Ordered it on a Sunday, got it on Tuesday

Sorry, I am completely blind. When I didn't see EU warehouse on the AliExpress site I assumed it shipped from China. I didn't realise sellers themselves took it upon themselves to do their own EU warehouse shipping.
    Cheers for the heads up!

Tried above...."adb devices" phone is detected, "adb reboot fastboot" just reboots the phone as normal to stock rom....

A quick scan of the stock rom reveals some malware and suspect apps that can't be uninstalled. If I could debloat the stock rom I'd be more than happy...I've tried on windows 7 and Vista, no luck. It's more than likely something stupid I'm doing but cant figure it, only get about an hour a day to trick about with it....gone back to an old Jiayu for the moment..

Scanned my phone there with malwarebytes, not sure if this is the best but it only came up with one infection with is Cerberus, which I installed. Letv does have a lot of apps alright but I have all their notifications disabled and they don't bother me anymore. Wonder do you have a third party Rom from a seller.

    hi,
want to buy a new phone, looking over this thread and head is fried and narrowed it down to these four
    http://www.devicespecifications.com/en/comparison/22e283165,

Does anybody have experience of these phones?
the pro 3 seems popular on here but the lenovo seems a little better apart from 1Gb less RAM,

The camera quality doesnt bother me, just want decent processor speed, decent display, and above all else good battery life, also a phone thats ready to go without having to mess with it too much at start like hard resets, flashing etc..?

Would Ali express be the way to go for avoiding customs? someone mentioned a certain seller on that website as well?

sorry for all the questions but i have never ordered off these sites before and im a bit wary,

thanks in advance for any responses

Had the same issue. adb seemed to work. But fastboot didn't. It would reboot the phone but if I did fastboot devices I was getting no devices back. The malware was getting worse.

I stumbled across a clean LeTv Rom which was essentially the same ROM without the Malware and with the System Updates in tact. I just downloaded the update.zip file, copied it to the phone, hit power and up volume to put it into recovery and installed it that way.

I did a google again and I think this is the same ROM

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/leeco-le1-pro/help/clean-rom-letv-usa-x800-t3417863

I did this on Friday and so far so good. I did have two anti-virus apps that I ran again just to make sure. One or two of the malware things did try and install again but I think that wiped them out. I didn't have to wipe the phone to install the ROM.

Maybe rooting is the best option long term. But in the short term this was quick and easy and *seems* to have done the job.

Sorry the command should be "adb reboot bootloader"

That brings me to the penguin screen and the phone sits there, which is good.

"fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" worked fine for me

    "fastboot reboot" reboots the phone

And then after the phone boots up again

    "adb reboot recovery"

will bring you back to your shiny new recovery mode

For anyone wondering how to flash a new recovery, these steps are universal you just need the correct recovery.img for your phone

Since nobody else replied. Look for a Device with a Global Rom (not vendor/Chinese), then you shouldn't have to mess with flashing etc.

Also compare your devices here, the RN3 doesn't have NFC for example so Android pay, if it comes available here, won't work.

To avoid VAT through aliexpress check that the seller has DHL EU express shipping or sellers method to avoid VAT, it will depend on the seller check the description.
