You can attack an enemy gym with 6 of your pokemon so if you have 6 around the 300-400 mark, you could be lucky? Check the elemental types also!

The 1735/2000 is the prestige level of the gym, it needs another 265 points to get to 2000 which will up the level of the gym, the higher the level, the more pokemon you can store at the gym

thanks for that.

but the gym has changed hands for the first time in a week. Its now blue , so should put my strongest pokemon in it?

Was just out for lunch (in Edinburgh) the park is absolutely full of people, it's great.

It's also great that I'm walking around wearing a suit, everyone assumed I'm emailing but I'm noooooooot.

Went for a walk at lunch. Usually only the standard Pidgey, Ratatta, Weedle around. The odd Gastly or Eevee. Up popped a CP 865 wild Electabuzz. Two of the three of us managed to catch it, both at 865.

There was a bit of an impromptu session down at Store street / Bus aras at lunch great craic all 3 poke stops on that street had Lures on loads of people playing . Played my lucky egg and hit level 11 in 72 hours

I set off a lure last night at the Pokestop outside my hotel. A quiet area, mainly residential at that time of evening. By the time that the lure expired, 7 other people had joined in on either side of the canal.

I set off another one today at lunchtime in the square nearby. Because it was busier it was harder to pick out people but I definitely know the group of 4 Indian guys who pulled up alongside me were playing

First time in town (dublin) with the game and I had fun. All around Henry Street and trinity college. Used a lucky egg when in someone's lure zone at the temple bar but it didn't last long and I was eating food so I didn't make much use of my lucky egg aside from evolving abut 3 pokemon.

I couldn't set my own lures off which was a bit crap. I was literally standing where a pokestop was but it said It can't be used here???

God some strong pokemon now which I can compete at gyms. I took my local gym twice today. Sadly I don't got 50 pokestops, 5 lures and 15 gyms in my neighbourhood unlike you townies

Noob question but does the great ball spawn at pokestops once you're high enough level. Used my lucky egg so jumped from 10 to 13

and got a few great balls so just wondering will they spawn before I waste the ones I have

Open Pokemon Go to the Map screen.
Tap on the nearby PokéStop.
Tap the small, white, pill-shaped Lure Module slot that sits just above the circular disc and just below the name of the PokéStop.

Caught a Pigeot while out walking and server connection broke just as it confirmed the catch. Devastated.

Any gym I've seen has had Pok mon with well over 800 CP, how am I supposed to tackle that at level 7?

You really only tap on three items:

-Pokemon that appear
-Pokestops
-Gyms

I stand to be corrected though.

General consensus appears to be that the green leaves indicate pokemon nearby.

The grass is the general area of where a pokemon from your nearby list is.

AR feature isn't working on phone when trying to capture Pokemon, tried signing out and restarting phone, any idea what to do, if I uninstall it will I lose all my progress??

Look for AR switch in top right corner of screen next time you're capturing a Pokemon.

No you should still have all your progress as long as you sign in with the same Google/Pokemon account.

Is the AR switch turned to on in the top right of the screen while catching them?
