That's the thing, I did. I battled it several times and raised it's prestige, I know how the gym system works, so I was confused to see the option wasn't there. maybe my game has glitched out, I have no idea. I'll head back up tomorrow and see what happens.

the gauge on the top left has to fill completely to go up a level. it takes a horrible amount of battling. not worth it imo. i just wait for red to steal the gym and beat them. way easier

The Gym at the Google Building on Barrow Street is insane! Lvl 1455 Vaporeon, lvl 1988 Arcanine, lvl 2003 Snorlax and a lvl 2136 Dragonite

I don't think the Blue team are going to lose that one any time soon...

Sick of collecting ~400+ CP rated Jinx's. Can do nothing but power them up and it's 1000 dust to do it each time :(

They will though, which is the good thing about the game.

Those pokemon can't get any stronger while in a gym, whereas everyone elses will get stronger and stronger. In a couple of months you could have people with multiple pokemon at 5000 CP as their xp levels get higher and higher.

Even if you beat one pokemon the gym gets lowered down, and a team can all attack the gym together btw, it's ridiculously easy to take any gym if you have buddies or have 6 pokemon that can beat one pokemon in there.

There is a cap on the levels. 40 is the highest. Once you get past 20 the exp needed is exponential with 25 million needed to get from 39 to 40

Mewtwo is the highest cp on around 4500 and dragonite is second on about 4.
    I'll find the link later.

Read a tip yesterday that if you used the incense while walking a pokemon would appear every 1-2 minutes rather than every 4-5 if stationary.

Did it on the walk home yesterday and cought 19 pokemon in 20 mins along the canal had caught 0 in the 10 mins before i tried it out

Grand Canal? That place is drowning in Pokemon even without incense tbh.

Apologies no it was the royal canal between Drumcondra and Ashtown wich has thus far proved kinda dissapointing my previous best along that 5k strech was 6 and all low CP Pidgy's and Rattata's.

with the incense i cought 19 among them a couple of pretty decent ones includinc a Dewgong , Staryou and a Slowpoke

Be going through Phibsborough Glasnevin this evening theres some amount of Pokestops on that route and ive heard from a few people that there are allot of ghost pokemon around the Cemetry.

All out of pokeballs and with no pokestops or gyms in my area, that looks like its the end for me :)

i've just reached lvl 5 and went blue.

theres only one gym anywhere near me and theres a lvl 17 player in it on his own with a Lapras cp 1385.

the best i have is a venomoth cp 320.

is there any point in attacking it?

also under the crown it says 1735/2000. what does this mean ?

Just downloaded it yesterday, more for the walk to and from work and taking the dog out.

Quick question, I've gone for the approach of only catching a pokemon once, should I try and catch as many as possible?
So far I only have a Snorlax, Charmander, the Bat, Spearow and the plant one (yes it's been a whole since I watched Pokémon!)

The more of the same type u get the more "candies" you get which are specific to each type of pokemon.

Eg. U catch snorlax u get snorlax candies every time. These can be used to power up snorlax only, or evolve only snorlax. Likewise when u catch others.

Yeh you have to catch the same pokemon repeatedly to get candys and dust to evolve em , also catching them increses your xp and levels you up so quite literally try and "catch em all"

Trade out your lowest CP of each type every time for the extra candy also

Ah fair enough, thanks for that.
Walked past 3 Snorlaxs this morning alone. Lesson learnt.

Transfer them? Not sure of the benefit but at least you get rid of them.

The only thing I want from the game is a Snorlax. Swap you for everything I have.
    I have nothing useful

    Apologies, they're just Drowzees.
My god I've become one of those "old" people who get all the names wrong.

Some kind soul has dropped a Lure outside my office.

Just tried to put in a request for a pokestop to be put in near me, but they've a note up on the support page saying they've stopped taking requests for pokestops - try a park or somewhere nearby. Not much good if you live in the sthicks ;)
