I had 5 gyms in control and the timer was about 20 minutes left before i could collect my coins and the servers kicked me off. I know ill get in and i'll have lost control of most of the gyms.

sigh.....god damned official release!

I seriously don't see the point. Most of the fun is actually walking around to real life places and getting exercise and seeing what to find. Just sitting in your chair doing it defeats the purpose but hey, people always want to cheat.

great social scene on this game - met some Chinese guys down at dun laoghaire harbour who dropped two overlapping lures for us to use - caught a wild bulbasaur there.

Also found a new user who chose insight - light ribbing aside gave her some tips on how the game works.

Up to level 19 now with 71 pokemon in the pokedex

Servers seem to be down for everyone now that it is officially out for most of Europe.

edit: the Chinese guys told us that wild pikachus can be found out in dun laoghaire harbour also - I've seen a silhouette of the electric mouse but didn't manage to catch him.

For those in Dublin, Merrion Square is the spawning spot for Magmars

Is downloading the apk before the official release not cheating, I think you'll find it is.

The point is that there are a lot of people that don't have a stop or a gym in a ten mile radius.

same i live right out in the middle of the countryside
Except i dont think there is anything in a 30 mile radius for me :P

Just drive into town and go walking for an hour

Some people who live in Dublin city centre have a massive advantage gyms within a hundred metres of each other in east wall and the rest. Loads of pokestops. Closest one to me is probably half a km no idea where the next one is and no pokestops.

The whole point of the game is to walk around to interesting places and catch pokemon.

They're hardly going to undermine this because some people don't have interesting locations and aren't bothered to travel.

People in the city only have an advantage of they travel outside the city.
If you live somewhere where locations are sparse they it's still a level.playing field for everyone in the area.

I'm not in a cjty myself. But Im level 20 and have plenty of Pokemon.

I didn't need to cheat I just went for a walk, caught plenty of lights and Sundays and levelled up that way.

I've caught around 550 Pokemon so far.

I agree that people cities have massive advantages, hopefully it may be addressed in the next update.

Is there a thread I'm not seeing on this? We have been waiting ten months for Pokemon GO but now it's here we can't login! We have been getting the "try again later" page all day. Has anyone else had problems? Any help gratefully, and urgently, received. A.

I managed to get on 3 hours ago for 10 minutes and deposited a Poké in the Mystic Gym at the Pavillions in Swords, not been able to logon since, can only imagine it will get worse as the Yanks come online, my experience has usually tailed off in the late evening this past week, lauagably last night was the most stable it had been for me yet, so they let another 26 countries in and it's all gone to Shít again!

I'd advise you not to, wait until you have trouble catching new pokemon before evolving anything.
But if you want to try it out, pidgey';s are cheap evolutions and each evolution gives XP.

How do you collect coins from a gym, do you have to go back to the gym or does it do it automatically.

tap on the pokeball on the bottom of your screen, then click on the shop circle, there should be a shield with the number of gyms you are defending on the top right corner, you can collect from here every 21 hours and you get 10 coins for each gym your defending
