Franks orginal hot sauce 2.50 in tesco right now, very well stocked in my local one, have not seen it on offer in a while.

I had to get some vaccines yesterday, and I always feel a little crappy after them. Today, my arm is killing me and I'm exhausted. I'm feeling moderately sorry for myself, and the urge to bake things is increasing exponentially each hour! But I'm also trying to lose a bit of weight, and cakes and weight loss don't go together :(.

That's the main reason I don't bake. I just don't trust myself. Before its even cooked I'm eating raw pastry and creamed butter and sugar. It's disatourous for me!!

Feel better soon Faith. I tend not to bake as much at this time of year because I'm usually trying, too late, to lose weight for the summer.
When lettuce tastes like cake and chocolate I'll be skinny :D

Mrs Billy made a batch of her butter cookies recently as a farewell pressie to HB Jr II's teacher. I can tell you that the teacher was lucky to get any.

I'm also suspicious that bananas in our house are being deliberately allowed go over-ripe so that they can be converted into banana bread. Twice in recent weeks I've come home to be presented with freshly-baked loaves by the boys.

I might be suspicious, but I certainly ain't complaining. :)

Is there a better apple than the Pink Lady? First one in a month and not leaving it this long again

    Should I buy this? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Instant-Pot-Electric-Pressure-Stainless/dp/B00OP26T4K/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1468344227&sr=8-4&keywords=pressure+cooker

Number 1 seller on the US site in kitchen appliances. Pressure, slow and rice cooker in one. I've being wanting a pressure cooker for awhile now, can also find uses for slow cooker.

Hmmm I don't need it but it's a decent price........

There's a big long thread o'love about Instant Pots on mumsnet, people seem to love them. I vote you buy it and report back so that I can live vicariously through your instant potting :):)

I went to the local Tesco today (for a change, also 'local' is half hour away) and I must have caught their reduced section when it was just stocked. So many 3 packets of fish pieces, turkey mince, and lamb mince for under a fiver. Already made a pot of chowder, any ideas for the turkey mince? Never used it before but sure, t'was a euro! :pac:

    Turkey burgers or Turkey meatballs.

I'm not a big fan of turkey, but I'm thinking burgers also, or some form of pasta bake?

Something with loads of flavour anyways ... I know turkey is very good for you, but I find it so bland!

Turkey mince works well for chilli or bolognaise

Put plenty of herbs and seasoning into it and stuff some courgettes, tomatoes and peppers.

    Turkey meatloaf.

I've a load of chicken legs and wings, and I'm thinking of something slow-cookery, not involving chilli!

    Any ideas?

Maybe too late now for the bargain but if it's still there then go for it. I love mine. It's the best kitchen gadget I've ever bought. Soups take no time, stews come out lovely and it does fantastic curries. I couldn't recommend it highly enough. The only downside is that the supplied recipe booklet is very American so there isn't really a great selection of recipes for our part of the world but there are plenty of recipes on line. Google hippressurecooking.com for a start.

Having a disappointing dinner = bad.

Having a disappointing dinner that also scalded the gob off ya so you're reminded of how bad it was all night = the worst.

Having a medicinal beer now to cool off ;)
