Doubtful to be ISIS, given that just cops were targeted. If previous attacks are anything to go by, they would have just gone after everyone.

This is the beginning of summer of organised violence. The Black Lives Matter group is being used to usurp democracy in the US with the aim of martial law being declared and Trump being blamed for inciting racism. They will force Trump to be dropped as a presidential candidate and ensure Hillary Clinton gets the job.

Watch the Republican National Convention coming up in Cleveland and see the "peaceful protests" that get out of hand and turn quickly to violence. This is insidious and tyrannical, Black Lives Matter indeed.

Given the context ISIS is definitely not the prime suspect (though at this stage nothing says it isn't them either).

But specifically targeting cops and military is definitely something they do! (latest occurrence: see the police commender and his policewoman wife assassinated in France a few weeks ago)

That was just an individual attack, wasn't it? In this kind of large scale coordinated attack (by trained snipers, if videos are to be believed), then they would have done a lot more than target cops.

There has been several such targeted attacks in the past years and only last month there was a call to "kill police officers and military personnel of countries participating in the international coalition of forces against ISIS".

Don't believe they were "trained snipers "at all most likely the opportunistic shooters who took to high ground to carry our the attack using semi auto rifles and scopes .
Wouldn't take much training ,

But it's kinda funny how civilians can pay to train with former military personnel including former special forces members in tactical shooting

I am pretty sure the protesters had nothing to do with the shootings. Think about it, a stray bullet could have easily hit one of them.

The protesters and the shooters are very different groups. In this case it wasn't Trump but it did start with some trigger happy cops. This does not excuse the shooters behaviour. The appropriate response is the peaceful protest that was going on. The shooters are complete scum and furthermore the cops shot were not engaging in violent behaviour.

This situation is nuts. They need to stop the violence on both sides (all of this is assuming the shooters carried this out "in the name" of black lives matter even if black lives matter were not involved).

I can only hope the tit for tat behaviour doesn't escalate.

And I don't see an ISIS gunman turning the gun on himself, no glory in that, better to go down in a hail of bullets from the cops........
Could just be someone who is ex army aggrieved with everything, Lord knows, when those guys get back from armed service, they are just thrown on the scrap heap along with any PTSD issues they have and expected to get on with life. That's my thinking on it anyways time shall tell.

Maybe not trained snipers, but there was one video that surfaced which supposedly showed a cop being shot at point blank range by one of them. The way they moved seemed like there was a degree of training there.

A stray bullet did hit one of them. The civilian that was shot was a mother of 2 that was there with her sons.

That's what I'm thinking. I don't believe there's ever been a case of an ISIS attacker turning their guns on themselves?

Edit: obviously speculative, but surely we'd now have some word from ISIS claiming they carried out the attack, if it were them?

Honestly, I've no idea either. Some people were commenting that the fact they flanked the cop (with some thinking that something was also thrown to distract) made it look like some degree of training was there.

Either way, utterly horrendous.

I think the elephant in the room, and what America in general fail to do anything about is the fact that guns of ridiculous capability can be bought like a cigarette lighter in shops. Guns may not kill people, people do, but taking away the firepower will certainly take away opportunistic sprees like this. I feel sorry for those who lost their lives, but America needs to wake up or stop being so thick with regard to their lax gun laws or this will just happen over and over and over again. It is an issue of their own making and only they can fix it. Obama in this regard has been about as useful as an umbrella in a hurricane. Seems to have had no ability, power or interest in changing things sure he talks the talk but words are cheap and the gun is mightier.

Yep and he was right, for him it was the end. Does any other end matter..... I don't think it's anything like Waco at all. The shooter just knew he wasn't getting out of there alive.
