Never seen the point in revenge. Just means bullsh!t continues rolling on. Anyone I've had an issue with I've just left them be.

When you seek revenge...you dig two graves my friend...as they say in the Spaghetti Westerns.

Some people it's non stop vengeance. It's the root of a lot of badness in the world. People perceive their unhappiness as being the fault of someone else and lash out.

A friend, a woman, wanted to make her divorce as messy as possible, just for the sake of giving her husband as much grief as possible, even though the messiness would have negative consequences for herself. Her problem wasn't that he'd done anything, just that over familiarity can eventually breed poisonous contempt. The kind of stuff she was doing was hilarious from a sick point of view, she knew which buttons to press for a laugh, but they were expensive laughs.

Actually, Mumsnet forums are an addictive read. There's a whole class of women, who were born to be divorced. They don't, and never even have, liked men, and even less liked the men they married. The divorce was often all a part of the game plan. Some men beat their wives, and some wives use divorce proceedings to batter their husbands.

Nah, what's the point. I usually just cry and listen to She's Gone by Hall & Oates tbh.

My ex wife in Portugal put a curse on me from a Brazilian witch doctor, I had a **** life for years after we split, and then I went to one who informed me of the curse, It was lifted and low n behold my life got better. tis true.
I certainly wouldn't rule out this phenomenon. While the logical side of my brain would try to discount it I am aware personally of situations from within other cultures where situations like this appear to have occurred. Perhaps a topic for another thread.

Pretty sure we can just discredit it here and be done. :)

I thought Boards was hoping to rid itself of the open and shut one-sided arguments :D:P

The 'creepy and unnerving' thread is very popular and I generally would be the biggest sceptic going but I had something seriously 'other wordly' happen me a long time ago which really got my hackles up. I might get round to posting it one day in that thread.

Yes. Broken hearts want broken necks. She cheated so I ****ed two of her other sl*t friends. She tried to play the whole Im gonna commit suicide if you do this shtick but I didnt care if she did.

All talk. I could almost guarantee you'd care if she did. Sudden deaths of even people I don't know very well are pretty shocking and Im not even an emotional person. A suicide death of somebody you were intimate and surely liked a lot for at least a little while will affect you.

Wish them the very best for the future. Their guilty conscience & karma will ultimately play its part. Life is too short to be anything but happy.

How do you get revenge against someone who wouldn't touch you with a barge pole? It's a remarkably powerless position to be in.

I have the power to ruin an ex's life and have been very tempted since he has put me through hell. Haven't done it and time is running out to do it. Should I?

You going to pull out his life support before he dies naturally?

I'm glad you're not my doctor!

No you will always regret ruining somebodys life, and if people finds out that you did this to him then you'll always have the label of being the worse person out of the two of you regardless of what he did to you in the past. Not worth it

Getting revenge is really subjective and depends on the circumstances. If someone has been disrespected privately, publicly or worse they shouldn't always just stand back and take it or simply turn the other cheek because that's not healthy for one's self-esteem or one's own self-respect. Sometimes a marker does need to be laid down to re-affirm personal boundaries and that can take many forms but it should never be done out of pleasure. Even the most saintly of people have their limitations.

I know what hatred is. A Real burning desire to inflict the same pain they caused me. But no. That kind of feeling only serves to pull you apart, not the one that most deserves it.

I couldn't be a doctor for the same reason. But if I was, the health services bill would be greatly reduced. People have an over sentimentality for the old...especially the old 'salt of the earth' conservatives. There's a strong likelihood they bate their children around with batings they wouldn't dream of dishing out to their pet dog (ah they always love their dog, that kind..bate their children, wouldn't bate the dog, no, no..wouldn't dream of it, sure what has the dog done). I mean, 'natural causes', it's not like you're pals are going to tell on you, if you get them off early and down to the pub, for the same money as if they'd spent hours sweating over an ungrateful gob'fullof'shino. They'd have all kinds of 'tricks of the trade'. I mean, there must be 'tricks of the trade'...as long as they don't go over the top, like your man Harold Shipman. Not a GP you'd want to cheek, or give a pain in the arse to...But if they keep looking at their watch, and want to get down the pub to watch the match...I certainly wouldn't push my luck...If I was a doctor, you'd be getting a Shipman special to soften your coffin'

Christ you sound like a p*ssy dude. I stopped caring about her the moment she f*cked someone else. Alls fair in love and war. Its one or the other with women. Besides nothing matters in this world, do you really think I'd let someone who I slept with and shared an apartment occasionally affect me apart from getting what I want?

Read Nietzsche's Will to Power and get out of that weak beta mindset.

Does the punishment fit the crime?
Is he going to know it came from you?
Is he going to fully understand it was related to his treatment of you?
Will what you plan make him feel remorse and do better in future?
Will what you plan make him apologise to you about how he treated you and make amends?
Will what you plan make him want revenge in turn against you?
Are other people going to know it was your doing? Might some of those people be people you don't want to know you did such a thing?
Would it involve (harm) other people not directly involved and/or not at fault?
Will other people who you used to get your revenge resent that you used them? Could these people be in a position to harm you later?
Can you imagine a scenario in which people who are not at fault are harmed as collateral damage, now or in the future?
    Is it legal?
Could there be blowback that could harm you?
Will doing this make you feel better about yourself and your own character, or worse?

What's that got to do with anything? Your girlfriend is f*cking other people, we're bombing children in Syria, you're posting using a computer made in a South East Asian sweatshop then wake up and order a Caramel Macchiato coffee from Starbucks planted and harvested by 12 year olds in Bolivia and all you can say is a non-substantial passive aggressive remark based on a lack of life experience?

Christ dude. I've been to 5 continents and lived full-time in 3 countries and I cant help but pity people with obviously sheltered lives complaining about the most mundane sh*t the most lifeless way possible.

    You talk like a woman.
