At least 125 people have been killed and about 150 injured in an explosion claimed by the so-called Islamic State group in Baghdad, Iraqi police say.
A car bomb exploded on a busy street in the Karrada district late on Saturday.
The mainly Shia area was busy with shoppers late at night because it is the holy month of Ramadan.

These animals have wiped out ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE people in this attack. Absolutely bonkers. Seems like they've actually used Ramadan as a type of 'bait' for this trap. Low life scum.

That is heartbreaking news. First Turkey earlier on in the week now this.

Regrettably, ISIS in this time is just a formidable terrorist group in which they can kill someone at any moment & at any time. The mindset of these thugs killing these innocent people lives is absolutely disgusting. There should be powers coming in from world leaders to try & stop them by any means necessary but I'm not holding out any confidence in that for the future.

Rest in peace to all who died. The heartbreak from your families is just getting more unbearable as they hear about your loss.

Utter ****ing scum. To just not give two fcuks who you wipe out just shows what type of ***** these people are.
Not one real man among the lot of them and are just a disgrace for humanity.
Cant wait for the day they are literally wiped off the face of the planet.

So-called, as in Islamic State isn't a legitimate country, which is what they purport to be.
The term "Islamic State" was objected to by Muslim groups in Europe. In Britain, members of the Islamic Society of Britain and the Association of British Muslims sent an open letter to British Prime Minister David Cameron suggesting that the group should be referred to as the "Un-Islamic State" or "UIS".

    If only.

There is no end in sight to terrorism.

This was another horrific attack and as usual it in innocent people paying the price.

Yeah but they can call themselves whichever way they want. No-one comes and say "the so-called Irish Republican Army", because they don't represent the majority of the Irish and are not an actual army. If these people want to name their organisations IRA or Islamic State , you cannot chose another name for them.

    Agreed.

It's getting worse. There are no boundaries and it's near impossible to predict where will be next. It cant be contained.

The only certainty is, a lot more people are going to die.

ISIS are simply a bunch of criminals hiding behind the veil of religious zeal in order to justify their own abhorrent behavior to themselves.
These cvnts are simply in it for the opportunity to kill and maim people, the Islamic extremist angle is of little relevance to these creatures.

I get your point but there's 1.6 billion followers of Islam, they probably wouldn't recognise this Islamic State for what it is. I think the transaltion from Arabic to English makes the name controversial. There's a decent read here in this article relating to the names of ISIS.

Even a lazy understanding of the history of the "prophet" Mohammed will lead you to see where IS take inspiration from.

    Was Muhammad "unislamic" too?

Just like the Taliban? Oh, wait. We won't be rid of ISIS that easily.

As long as Islam exists, groups like ISIS will always exist. ISIS isn't a fresh idea, it's been done several times in the history of Islam and a new group will emerge to succeed them.

Muhammad created an Islamic state during his days and these nutjobs are imitating him. That's why they're doing this and the first Muslims were as violent as ISIS are.

The phrase "the organisation styling itself the Irish Republican Army" was used to refer to them very frequently back in the day.

RIP to all killed, that seems like a huge death toll for one attack

Things have rather accelerated since the 80s though, it's not like Islam has changed since then but other factors have. Blaming it all on Islam is a bit of a simplification really. I'm sure if the same people in the same situation had the old testament to draw on that's what they'd be using to justify their actions.

Wrong kind of Muslims. Not real ones as far as they're concerns. Majority of people they've killed have been Shia Muslims I think

Just watching a short doc on Sky News about Bush/Blair and the 2003 invasion. If ever you needed proof that politicians literally make it up as they go along with rarely a back of a fag packet plan, then this is a perfect example. What an almighty clusterfúck those two tools started which we may never see the end of.

Rather than focusing on Islam, you should really be focusing on who's funding ISIS, and the individuals organizing and plotting these terrorist attacks. Laying the blame at the feet of Muhammad is laughable.

Over 400 million Muslims worldwide support Islamic State and adhere to hard line extreme Wahhabiism Islam, the true literal version of Islam as written in the Koran. As far as these people are concerned by committing these atrocities they are carrying out gods work against non-believers, Christians, Jews and Apostates. Around 25% of Muslims worldwide support Islamic State including here in Ireland where hate emanates daily from their Wahhabi Mosques, funded by Saudi Oil money to preach their Wahhabi hate.

Truly deserving of the name 'Daesh'.

Thank you Coalition Forces/CIA. Your particular brand of Freedom has enriched this World. If the West isn't going to intervene, at least stop hindering those who fight against these creatures.

^^^^^^^^^ Exactly this, If Bush & Blair had left well enough alone, and not invaded under the pretense of "weapons of mass destruction" and had they left Saddam Hussein be and later Gaddafi, the West wouldn't be experiencing the blowback from the actions of hungry warmongers.

It's madness, there's a lyric in Megadeth's Holy Wars... The Punishment Due that sums up everything when it comes to this sort of idiocy on behalf of religion.
Killing for religion Something I don't understand

I read something before that says if you're willing to kill for your religion then just kill your bloody self and nobody else.

    A very good post imo.
No one asks where did these terrorists get enough explosives to fill a truck and enough explosives to fill the next truck for the next terrorist outrage that will inevitably come.
Instead all we get are "investigative journalists" who come up with scoops such as "associates" of Putin like to wear Rolex watches and other meaningless drivel!
