    Sunday 26th June
Easy run - headed out as no point watching the end of the match  and decided to do 8m to make it up to 30 for the week. Lovely evening out and the dog was delighted to be back out for her runs, she missed my runs so much she escaped twice and crossed the main road and off up the road. Once was because of the thunder and she managed to somehow get out over a 3ft wall and gates, shes only a little thing. She was missing overnight and not found until the next morning hiding out in an empty shed. poor thing.
    anyway easy enjoyable run.

So after doing just easy running for the past few weeks due to glute injury and holidays its back to structured training with the aim of Dublin Marathon 2016.

    Plan for the week
    Mon| Tue| Wed| Thurs| Fri| Sat| Sun
    Rest| 5m Easy| 5m Progression run ending at HMP| 5m easy | Rest| 1m wu, 5 * 800 @ 7.20 off 2min rec, 1m cd| 10m easy

Well the week has not gone to plan so far. After coming home from holidays feeling rested, within 2 days i could feel the tiredness coming back!! B12 injection due on Wed, and 3 move over the next 10 days. Can't wait to get some energy back and for someone to take this heavy block from the top of my head, well that's what it feels like!!

    Tuesday 28th June
    Plan 5m Easy
    Actual 2.5m

Feeling very tired after my first day back in work and starring at the screen all day. On Sunday I had worn tshirt & 3/4 legging and was too warm, so oped for the lighter gear of vest & shorts today. Got the dog and headed out in my shorts & vest in the lovely sunshine. 1 mile into the run and the heavens opened. I actually enjoy running in the rain but today it was icy cold and with in a few minutes my body was freezing. I ran up and back along a sheltered bit of the road until the heavy rain passed and them took to the open road again. But it started again and turned into hailstones. it felt like i was being hit by golf balls and they were coming at an angle so hitting me directly. Stepped in under a tree until it lifted again but for the next 10 mins it got heavier and the roads were flooded around me. There was no shelter from the tree either as it was coming in under the tree at an angle. It was with resignation that I decided to make the call. I was so wet & cold at this stage and my phone was so wet it took me ages to make the call. After standing for another 10 mins i realised i had given the name of the wrong farm i was near and had to hoof it back half a mile to the one i had named. Made it just as my knight in shining Armour was pulling up on his white stead in his red van. The dog jumped gratefully into the van as i did and away home with us.

I headed straight for a warm shower but it felt like boiling water pouring over me. i wasn't feeling very well afterwards so into PJs, had some dinner and vegged for the rest of the evening before hitting the hay. The sun came out and shone for the rest of the evening and if i wasn't so shattered i'd have gone back out and finished my run!! very disappointed at having to abandon this run!!
    Total 2.61

    Wednesday 29th June
    Plan 5m Progression
    Actual 0m

shattered again to day and had to take a half day from work as i couldn't concentrate or even think straight. I hate feeling this helpless. Had my B12 injection in the Doctors and booked the last 3 in so hopefully after the next one there will be a significant improvement. Home and vegged for the evening, not an ounce of energy and no hope of a run.

    Thursday 30th June
    Plan 5m easy
    Actual 5m Progression

Survived the full day in work today. Got home to be informed that Houdini the dog had vanished again. 4 ft wall, 4 ft gates and the little small dog disappears. We think she is getting through the hole in the gate for putting your hand through to open as the opening/lock is on the inside. Cue an hour driving around the roads i bring her running on and i was fully expecting to find her in the ditch.
Shes afraid of traffic but at the moment the main road is closed from our house for a mile so there is very little traffic (just those that go through the "Closed Road" signs and those living up the back roads, we live at a cross roads.
Anyway i was informed she was home. She is now grounded so no run for her.

Headed out the door just after 8.30 with the intention of just doing the 5m easy. 100m down the road and the heavens open!! ha ha this time i have on my teeshirt, 3/4 leggings and a running jacket, pity i forgot my cap!!! Soaked within 200m, it rained for the first 1m and then the sun came out. Really enjoyed this run and don't know where i got the energy from!!(maybe the injection works faster than they think)

    9.44, 9.25, 9.08, 8.52, 8.34, 8.17(.20m)
    Total 5.20m in 47.22 @ 9.07

So thats it for June total 80.45m, very low this month but better than a zero!!!

Crikey Anne!! glad to hear you have some energy back though, that walking through treacle tiredness just sucks big time so hopefully the injection has you back on track now for another while.

PS someone needs to tell mother nature its still actually summer

    Friday 1st July
    Plan
    Rest
    Actual 5m Easy

Playing catch up so headed out late afternoon, let the dog out from her grounding and off into the lovely sunshine:). Mother nature is having a laugh at me as 1 m in and the heavens opened for torrential rain & hail. For the first of July i was in full length leggings and a long sleeved top!!! by the end of the week i'll be in hat & gloves too!!!

the wind was very strong but just tried to keep it easy but i think unconsicoulsy i speed up when the rain started. Stopped after a while and the sun came out, so i was them "steaming" as was the flooded roads around me!!!

enjoyed the run all the same. Thankfully energy levels are improving and im feeling less shattered.

As some of you noticed I joined the Strava revolution yesterday and i recorded yesterdays run on my phone on Strava but it recorded 5.6m:eek: So i'm gonna stay with the Garmin and just upload the the runs from Garmin connect to save confusion(i'm easily confused :pac:)!!!

    Actual Parkrun

Kids wanted to do Parkrun so up to beautiful sunshine and off we went. They found it a bit tougher today but did great over all.
I stuck it out with the youngest and we did a bit more walking than the previous outing. Time also includes stopping with young lad to remove his insoles from his runners, he hasn't worn them in months and decided to put them back in his runner today. he was in trouble after half a lap!!!
Light shower of rain but nothing heavy, strong enough winds.

Parkrun official time 34:17 for myslef and youngest, position 88 & 89, older girl in 80 with new PB and younglad 85.
10.28, 12.12(included detour to car park for water for the kids) 10.41, not sure of final split as i forgot to stop the watch afterwards!!!

day full of activities now and hope to do my planned session later and if not i'm not going to stress about it as its not the end of the world!!

Yep you can link your GC account to strava so when you upload to GC it automatically uploads to strava too (poor tang's head will be spinning now :D)

Well done to the kids on their parkrun, great to see them enjoying it, we have lots of regular kids in Cabinteely and they absolutely love the atmosphere and achievement. How's the energy levels now?

Thanks energy levels are great at the moment!!(post to follow) i'm managing to get up at a reasonable time and am not totally knackered by the end of the day. Long may it continue & improve...:D

Brought the youngest to swimming lessons in Trim in the afternoon and when we got there they'd been cancelled and we hadn't been notified, so the kind hotel staff offered me all the swimgear i needed so i could go into the pool for a whie with L. She was delighted and an hour in the pool did my legs the world of good. Due to the longer time away we got back in time for the second half of the youngfellas football match. Feeling good so when i got home and organised a bit off dinner for the kids i hit te road for my session.
Seeing as the main road is closed from my house for just over 1 mile i decided to use the road for my session. It still amazes me the amount of people who drive by the Road Closed signs, the road was actually quit busy and i spent a lot of my time giving directions!!! should have worn the uniform!!!

anyway when i hit the 1m marker i turned and headed back up the road, and continued up & down this stretch of road for the session. One the third one i though i was going to heave, it wasn't due to the pace as this was fine but think it was the unplanned lunch of a Supermacs after swimming. I haven't had a burger from a take away in quite a while!!! Definitely felt that it would be up by the 5th rep, but surprisingly i felt better on rep 4 & 5.

Delighted with this session and to have fitted it in so Week 1 back on track.

Myself and the madra hit the country roads for this and nice easy run completed. Mile 4 was a lot of stop starting as a young golden retriever decided to try play with Bonnie out on the road and wouldn't go home. Ended up turning as the road was too busy and the dog was all over it and i was afraid shed be hit by a car, there was also a lot of tractors on the road as they were meeting at a local farm in prep for a Tractor Run later!! so headed back to my quieter roads. Last mile i could feel the energy levels dropping but not surprised as busy few days!!! All running done on feel paying no attention to the watch so splits seem to be all over the place, but due to the rise & fall of the road and there's plenty of hills small and a bit bigger the effort was pretty much the same for the whole run. There was a lovely cooling breeze at times and at other times i could feel the heat . Really enjoyed this run

Headed off up the back road with the dog and sure enough 1.5m into the run and the rain started, but it wasn't for too long and wasn't too heavy and was quite refreshing. Turned around at 2.6m on the watch but must have taken shorter route home, 2.55 for return leg!!! No big energy boost for this run!!

Away to football match before 10am and then other commitments during the day so headed out with the dog, just before 6 in my shorts & vest as it was warm but windy. Rain started during mile 4 and pace automatically quickened, when mile 5 checked in at 9.32, i slowed it down again. Rain for most of the run but once i got past mile 5 i was fine and really enjoyed it. Lovely refreshing run, got tired in mile 10 for a few minutes and thought i'd struggle for the rest but picked it back up again. Run was done on feel and paces are pretty consistent considering the terrains, Elevation gain of 314ft!!

Do they re-test your blood in between the injections Anne to see how the levels are or will they just keep going with the injections? Any chance something else could be causing the tiredness?

Retest in 4 -6 weeks to see if levels have increased, 3 weeks if not feeling the best. I'm still tired but the confusion, struggle to find word when talking (very embarrassing in work when tryong to have a conversation and you can find the word for what you are talking about:mad:, short term memory & blurry eye have all improved significantly, just the lingering tiredness!!
My man say is all the "running around" i do, she doesn't blame the "running" outright any more!!!

Bar the B12, All other results came back grand, haemoglobin levels are quite high, always have been, but iron stores on the lower end of normal so have to watch that!! All thyroid etc are fine.

    Plan: 5m progression
    Actual : 1m wu, 10 mins @ 8.45/ 3mins rec, 5 x 2 mins @ 7.30/2 mins rec, 10 mins @ 8.45, 1m cd

Kids want to do park run on Saturday so i did Saturdays Session today so i can work the park run into the progression run or one of my easy runs.

Dropped kids to football training and headed off out the road
.11(@ 8.21:eek:)of a mile up the road i remember that i programmed the session into the watch last night to make it easier on myself. So I stopped, found the program, selected "Do program" and away again with me. Glanced at the watch & realised i forgot to press "Start" I'm such a klutz!!!
Anyway eventually got into the session and have to say i really enjoyed it. Felt good throughout. Only problem, couldn't get the pace right for the @7.30 and by the time i got into my stride the 2 mins were up:rolleyes: Last week i had a half mile to accustom to the pace!! The last 10min session was lovely and i got the pace right at the start so really enjoyed the 10 mins.

Anyway great session and back to the football pitch as training ended and a lovely light shower of rain to cool me down!!!

    Session splits:
    1m wu @ 9.31,
    10.00 mins @ 8.44
    5 x 2min @ 7.30 = 7.32, 7.26, 7.38, 7.28, 7.30,

    Thursday 14th July
    Plan
    5m Easy
    Actual: 20 mins Recovery

So the plan this week has been turned on its head. Husbands Aunt passed away yesterday so he was gone for the evening.
I had baking to do, shopping for said baking, football training to bring eldest to,(her first session with a neighboring club as i am not putting out a team from our club due to lack of numbers, so my football managing days are over, for now....looking forward to the complete break from it!!!

So eventually at 9.10 i got out but because it was getting dark on the country roads i decided to just to a 20 mins recovery as i wouldn't fit a 5m run in!! Calves are a bit tight so this helped them greatly. First mile was a bit too fast until i realised how dark it was getting and then i dropped it to recovery pace.

    10.17, 11.13,10.53(.10)
    Total 2.10m in 22.34 @ 10.45

    Friday 15th July
    Plan
    Rest
    Actual 5m Progression

Lunchtime run in Phoenix Park, first in a long time but had to fit it in. I was unsure whether to do my long run for the week or do the 5m progression, so first mile was easy, but right calf still a little tight so when watch beeped for 1st mile done i made the decision to just do the progression run and do the long run in the morning. Plus its extremely hot out and with no sun shine it makes for a "heavy. muggy" day. I will hydrate properly this evening and head out first time to do long run.

Funeral on Sunday morning/afternoon and then i'm travelling to Westport for the week with the kids so not sure if i'll fit in a run Sunday!!
Parkrun tourists next week, the house we are staying on is 500m from the start so can't but do it!!!:D:D:D

Run was fine but sweated buckets during this run, not enought water consumed before run!!

    Saturday 16th July
    Plan: session
    Actual 12m Easy

What a beautiful morning for a long run, the sun is shining but there is a lovely cooling breeze. When the breeze dies down the heat is quite intense. Really enjoyed the run today with the dog and we had no issues. Stopped at mile 8 to chat to a neighbout and got a glass of water from her, bit of a mistake as spent the next 3 - 4 mile belching!!! Mucked up the watch too as i lapped it by mistake:rolleyes:

Snailsong invited me to join him and his running pals for a run this evening but didn't get back from Achill until near 9, so it was 9.15 before i got out for this run. Lovely cool evening and the drizzle that started was very welcome. What wasn't welcome was the huge lightning flashes and thunder cracks that had me wishing i was nearer to home. Didn't get any worse so i survived.

    Wednesday 20th July
    Plan: 5m Steady
    Actual: 1m uwu, 4 x 12 mins @ 8.45, 3 mins rec, 1m cd

Met up with Snailsong at the skatepark on the Railway Greenway way in Westport and we headed off. SS had agreed to do my Saturdays session therefore i can do the Westport parkrun with the kids on Saturday. He had a route planned out that included a few hills. What a smashing route with some great views. We chatted the whole way and bar an odd glance at the watch i didn't stress about the pace. All bar rep no 3, where we were a little on the slow side, we were pretty much bang on target.

Really enjoyed the company for this and appreciated it especially as my paces are way too slow for him, and the the miles certainly flew by. Sun was shining and there was a good stiff breeze to keep us cool for most parts. Sun was hot when there was no breeze.

Forgot to start the watch, P has 9.5m and i have 8.7, and he ran me home and them back to his car so about .2 of a mile more so rounding this up to 9.2m total for the day.

    Thursday 21 July
    Plan 5m easy
    Actual Recovery run

Spend the day touring and forest walking in the rain, got home and had o feed the tribe so had to cancel my rundate with snailsong.

The kids were playing in the skatepark while the dinner was cooking so after a chat with Snailsong, he headed off for his run and i ran up and down on the greeenway while the kids played and then back to the house. Hips are fairly tight and giving a little hassel at the minute. Foam rooled when i got home.

    Total 1.60m in 16.59 @ 10.37

    Friday 22nd July
    Plan rest
    Actual 12m easy

Decided to do the long run of the week this morning as with the drive home on Sunday, not sure if i'll be willing and/or able to do it Sunday. My journey home will take at least 4 hr as i have a bad traveller and we do lots of stops. Plus the new addition to the family will be waiting for us at home, 8 week old puppy we are adopting called Oscar(formally know as Chunk).

Anyway decided to do an out and back from Westport to Murrisk, Croagh Patrick. Headed to the skate park and the watch wasn't picking up pace properly so reset and away with me.

The drizzly rain that was falling when i started soon passed and the clouds eventually disappeared ans let the sun through. Lovely run, at times a little too fast but i wasn't paying any attention to pace and it felt easy pace.

    10.49 (.51) 9.48, 9.49, 9.47, 9.40, 9.48, 9.29, 9.43, 9.37, 9.40, 9.36, 9.39, 9.46, 9.45(.10)

    Saturday 23rd July
    Plan session
Actual Westport parkrun(recovery pace), followed by 2 mile easy

I lay in bed listening to the rain hitting the window and decided i wouldn't call the kids and i get to race a parkrun (don't tell the boss;))!!!
However a few minutes later youngest arrived in looking to know were we going. I told the 2 bigger ones that they could stay in bed as it was raining but once youngest was going they were going too. Just then the rain stopped and off we went....only a 2 min stroll to the start and the Race Director ie Snailsong was in full flow. At exactly 9.30 we were off. Myself and L took the back and away we went. The older 2 and the Spanish girl were away further up and no stopping them. The younglad managed 2.30 min PB, with Spanish girl chasing him down but he wasn't going to let her pass him. The older one had a bit of an issue with her legs but still manage 1.21 PB, but we'll be back in Navan next week where the hill will slow them down!!!

Myself and the little one ran the first mile and then it was stop start till the end and we finished with just 2 behind us, but as i told her it's brilliant that she can do 5k and shes only 7!!! 34.41 we're getting slower but who cares, its not about the times!!!

In for coffee and a chat after and then i finished off with 2m easy to bring total for the day up to required 5m

    Total 5.39 for the day

    Sunday 24th July
    Plan
    12m easy
    Actual 5m steady

This week has been turned on its head again but all required runs got done and hopefully next week i'll be back on plan.

So decided not to run this morning as i had to pack & clean the house for the next occupants before we left, and i knew the dog would be delighted to get her run in this evening.

Got home and the excitement of the new puppy was unreal. OH collected the puppy yesterday so for 24 hrs there was only himself keeping an eye on the two dogs as they got to know each other before the kids descended on them!!
Left them to it and off to do the weeks shopping, got home, stuck a convenient dinner in the oven and off for the run. Had a 5m steady left to do for the week so into beautiful sunshine on my usual route with the bigger dog!!

This started off at the top end of the steady pace but the last 3 m ended up a little too fast. lovely run but in the slower miles it felt a little like a 10k effort, not difficult just much faster than it actual was!! probably just tired after the week of travelling and the journey home, and 2 bad nights sleep in a row!!!

    9.20, 9.18, 9.19, 9.13, 9.12, 9.13(.12)
    Total 5.12 in 47.30 @ 9.17

Anyway, booked in for sport massage this week, legs are tight and hips too so looking forward to getting them eased out!!

Week 4 completed and July streak 24/24 runs

    MTD: 140.15

got home and into the gear straightaway but wasn't feeling the love, feeling very tired and was starving, so had a small snack to keep me going. Then i had to fly off to Ardee for a message and it was after 8.30 when i got back and lashing out of the heavens. Should have gone at 6.30 when i planned, it was only drizzly rain then!!

Anyway OH had feed the dog while i was away as he "assumed" i wasn't going running!!! he should know better by know. Grabbed the dog & lead, a cap and out the door in the lashing rain. I love running in the rain, especially if dressed appropriately and then you can't even notice it!! It even eased off for the last 2 miles home!!

I had to stop a few times on this run when cars were passing as it was quite dusky because of the wet evening!!

Wasn't feeling great going out, but boy i felt fantastic afterwards and really enjoyed my hot, hot shower!!!

Programmed this into the watch and away out at lunchtime in the Phoenix Park as youngest has U8 football match this evening, so wont fit in a run.

Tummy feeling very sensitive during the 1 mile warm up and i could feel the oatcakes & peanut butter from morning break swishing around, along with the 500ml of water i had just before leaving!! I was worried that this might have to be shelved, but decided to just start it and see how i got on!!

turns out that tummy settled and gave no bother throughout the run, very warn and "muggy" out there but i love these sessions. Tried to ge the pace right without looking at the watch too much and did pretty ok!!
