The global elites that run the world have struck again. What is the best way to stop the British public from leaving the EU. Let's kill a pretty female pro Europe politician, that would do it. Well played now lets spew some more anti Russian propaganda and talk up this debt recovery, the middle class are so stupid

    Mod:

I can't believe I have to put in a mod warning for something so tragic, but seriously, stop with this nonsense.

Politics is about changing peoples opinions through persuasion and discussion not through violence. May this Labour MP RIP.

The Leave campaign has been intensely dishonest and vile.

Whereas the Remain campaign and it's painting of the other side as racists and bigots, saying that Brexit will lead to a European war (?) and loads more crap has been the bastion of honesty? Please.

I've seen lots of points scoring over this on twitter, disgusting. So sad, can't imagine what it's like for her husband and kids.

I would personally be interested to know how many people that were opposed to Scotland leaving the UK, now want the UK out of the EU and their reasons as to why.

It genuinely scares me that you're not the first person in this thread to post something so utterly mental.

I checked a few places that would attract a certain type of people who would support BF. This is the go to line. To add to that the witness didn't step in to stop it because she was an infidel (the polite version of what was said)

It is getting to the point that Politicians are becoming targets of hate from the public. Be it Trump in America or TD's in Ireland or MEP's in Europe or British MP's. It is more likely nowadays for a member of the public to intimidate a politician today than ever before. Not surprised when President Obama receives death threat but when your local representative is under attack it is really serious.

So it's points scoring when it's against your view but just telling the truth when a person agrees with your view.

We're back in the era of William Hogarth in some respects - the antipathy at best and more often casual hostility of the unwashed towards elected politicians and public officials (not to mention other public figures be they pop singers or footballers) is notable but now instead of throwing faeces at passing MPs we lurk online behind non-de-plumes and that's exploited by dubious elements.

Ah here, let's not f*cking cod ourselves either - people have plenty good reason to be p*ssed off with the political class in general. For every woman like Jo Cox you've got arseholes like Michael Lowry or Ian Duncan Smith or utter f*cktrumpets like Nigel Farage. Politicians have taken decisions that have destroyed aspects of our society and have often profited as a result.

What happened to this woman is tragic and she was undoubtedly a good egg but let's not pretend there's some sort of noble political caste of benevolent patricians unfairly demonised by knaves and blackguards.

What...on...earth happened to this thread? O.O

I mean, what's more bloody likely? A nutter with a gun, a knife, and more issues than the National Geographic went crazy for any reason (including maddened nationalism), or a huge world-wide intergenerational conspiracy to keep Britain in the EU?

I mean...really? If he'd yelled Allah Akbar, no-one would have had a second thought. Are British people not allowed to be bonkers?

The Star is an absolute shit-rag and have no regard for anything but the headline

It doesn't necessarily mean they're wrong, though.

They've published lots of things in the past before any official confirmation, and have ultimately been shown to be right in what they've said.

Aye, its an absolute horror from all sides.

Their will be plenty of point scoring over this in the next few days which is something to "look forward" to:(

This is definitely going to effect the outcome of the EU referendum. Guaranteed they'll vote to stay.
    I really hope not.

On a personal level and not being the most empathetic of people, I was home watching the press conference which announced that Jo had died.

I don't know what it was that resonated with me, but I cried.

Why is it when those at the top of the power pyramid have their secret meetings such as in Bilderberg this week it is never reported in the media. There is alot more going on here that will never be broadcast but what we see is a brutal and tragic killing which has now changed the end result, anything else must be nonsense or mental

A young mother of very young children who for all appearances seemed to really care about others regardless of their background.

Not hard to feel something there more than your average random murder.

In the context that that was only yesterday, that photo (that would have been the type to frame on the mantle) is particularly upsetting. :(

    Its very early doors indeed.

Manslaughter maybe, the mental illness excuse will be abused again.

Yeah between this poor woman being murdered, the massacre in Orlando and the terrorist attack in France which left two dead and a child orphaned, it's been a tough week for watching the news.

I heard this story either on the news on Today FM or on thejournal.ie earlier today. I had hoped that she would make a full recovery after the horrific ordeal. But sadly I heard from ITV News at 10 earlier tonight that she had passed away.

Like a few others posting on this thread I had never heard of this MP before. From what I have read about her on various media sites she had been portraying herself as a kind & helpful young lady who was there to help & improve other peoples lives who live in her constituency in West Yorkshire. She was not the kind of person who would spread hate to anyone & everyone under any circumstance; regardless of her job description in life.

I'm very shocked by what has happened to Jo Cox in the lead up to her own untimely death. It's a heartbreaking moment for her husband & kids to know that your own mum/wife will never come home again after a hard day's work with people of her community. May she R.I.P.

I hope the man who killed her gets full punishment of the law when it comes to him.
