There were some I don't see first time around, like most of the last season, but I saw the all of seasons 2 to 5 (religiously) every thurs night when I lived in the States.
The only one I didn;t see was "The apartment" but I downlaoded it recently :)

The best part in The Visa is Jer pretending to be unfunny.

    Cheryl: He's dark and disturbed
George: Dark and disturbed? his whole life revolves around Superman and cereal

    Cheryl: do you ever laugh
Jer: Sometimes when I'm in the tub. :D

Elaine: You look a little stressed.

    Jerry: Oh I'm stressed!

Elaine: So Kramer what am I supposed to do? If I don't have that fur hat by four o'clock they're gonna take me down like Nixon.

Jerry: You know my friend Bob Sacamano?

Elaine: I thought he was Kramer's friend.

Jerry: Well, he called last night about 3 a.m. we got to talking, he sells Russian hats down at battery park, forty bucks.

Elaine: fourty bucks? Are they Sable?

Jerry: No, but the difference is negligable.

Kramer: Oh yea, I like this idea.

I see smuckers is also following the adventures of our four oddballs on Paramount. They showed The Subway (ep 30) tonight. Classic stuff. George's troubles with the woman who tied him up and robbed him should tell us all that it's a bad idea to go home with a stranger you meet on the subway and let her hancuff you to the bed.

    Tonight's ep classic line:
Elaine: I'm not a lesbian. I hate men, but I'm not a lesbian

One of my absolute favourite episodes is "The Dealership" when Jerry goes to buy a new car and is hoping that Elaine's relationship with the salesman might mean he'll get the extras thrown in for free or at a considerable discount. Unfortunately, thing's don't go quite to plan when they suddenly end up breaking up right there in the dealership and Jerry has to do his own "salesman" bit to get the two of them back together so he can get his cheap extras.

This also has that great scene with Kramer and another employee from the dealership driving a car to see how far they can get on a single tank of petrol.

But these are not the best parts of this episode. The best part has got to be George's obsession with a Twix bar. He puts money into a candy machine to get the last Twix but it "hangs." He goes running around then trying to get some change to put into the machine to get it out the rest of the way but when he comes back SHOCK.... HORROR..... the bar is gone.

He then goes on a search to find out who ate "his" Twix. He reckons it's one of the mechanics but he denies this.

George: "Are those cookie crumbs on your chin?"

    Mechanic: "No."

George: "Yes they are. You ate my Twix."

Mechanic: "No I didn't. I was eating a.... ummm.... Fifth Avenue bar."

George: "No you didn't. Those are cookie crumbs and everybody knows that Twix is the only candy bar with the cookie crunch!"

He then seems to descend into an almost King Lear like madness, obsessed with finding out who "wronged" him. He sets up a police-style line up of candy bars in order to catch the Twix stealer but when he comes back into the room he finds all the employees of the dealership have eaten the bars.

George: "What are you doing? You've eaten my line-up?"

Lady: "I think this is a Fifth Avenue bar."

George: "No it's not. It's a Twix. They're all Twix's. I was trying to catch you out."

With this we see what is, for me, an all time classic George moment. Borrowing a scene from "Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan" we watch as George's blood pressure goes into overload, the red rises from his neck up through his face, he looks up to the ceiling into the camera up there and the camera pointing down spins around and zooms out as George totally looses the plot and screams,"TTTTTWWWWWWIIIIIIIIIIXXXXXXXX!!!!!!" That part, for me, is one of the best George moments ever in Seinfeld as we see this madness sort of overcome him.

"The Dealership" - a truly classic Seinfeld episode in my opinion.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,386 ✭✭✭smuckers

oh yeah The Dealership is truly great, he really went to extreme lengths whenever it came to lying, faking handicap really bites the biscuit.

George: "Jerry, lets face it I've always been handicapped I'm now just getting the recognition for it.

Love the Subway too Seamus :)

One of my favourite episodes is the one with the library where Jerry has a book that has been unreturned for something like 20 years. The manager of the library is brillant. Mr. Bookman. /me *chuckles* at the memory. If someone could point me in the way of a script or quotes or something that would be great.

    Ep 106 The Postponement

Jer: “In your situation, the only sex you’re going to have better than make up sex is if you’re sent to prison and you have a conjugal visit”
George: “Yeah conjugal visit sex that is happening”

George: “boy she’s something isn’t she?(talking about Elaine)
    Jer: “Yeah she’s something else”.

    Jer: “But you know me”
    Kramer: “I thought I did”

Reminds me of quite a few fun mornings on the London underground:). I found the middle section of the Bakerloo line the ideal place to sit in the middle of a carriage and watch people seat-diving, stop after stop. I've not experienced the NY subway but can say that in Eastern Europe it doesn't go on at all - people seem to make a bee-line for the standing section even when there are free seats (I suppose they're used to being oppressed:confused:)

smuckers, you are a god. I'd rather book-form but this'll fill the gap (besides, there's nothing stopping me printing them out). I've been after something like this for quite some time.
